It just worries me a little when you hear that Wolverine might be getting sidelined to a Disney+ series. I know people are tired of him but hes still a major piece of the X-Men and should be part of the movies.
He’s a major part of the X-Men but the X-Men have many major characters and they don’t all need to appear in the first film. Especially if they’ve been so heavily featured to date at the expense of the rest. Keeping him away from the first film will just add to the hype for when he does turn up.

I'd be completely fine with no Wolverine in the first trilogy. Even if that's not very likely. Gambit could fill the role of the foil who doesn't want to follow orders

3 whole films without him might be a bit much, especially as it might be a while before we even get the first film. Although it could work as long as he’s mentioned as being a mutant and appears elsewhere in the MCU before that.

Yea, I don't see it happening. But I'm just saying if it does -- I'd be completely okay with that. There are many other X-Men who have gotten the short end of the stick and deserve to shine in the MCU. Gambit for instance was perfectly cast but poorly utilized in Origins. And he hasn't show up since.

Meanwhile, Logan has had 4 X-Men films as the lead, 3 Wolverine movies and cameos in Non-Wolverine focused movies.

No joke Disney should bring back Taylor Kitsch. They owe him one after John Carter. And I didn't think he was that bad as Gambit tbh.

It's more like Kitsch owes Disney one after the colossal flop of John Carter. The film was poorly written and directed, yes, but Kitsch's performance was awful. A non-animated LEGO figure could have done better. He was just as bad in Battleship. As a movies star, he's a very good TV actor.

I hope we get plenty of time in total with all the planned films and series to give many of the big characters their own time and space to develop so that the GA can see how great a team this is. I want there to be favourite character GA polls in 10 years or so that aren’t totally dominated by Wolverine. I loved joining the Hype all those years ago and finding a lot of fans for every prominent X-character. I’d love for it to be a close thing between 13 or 14 X-Men in future as I’ve seen in some comic-reader polls.

There are reports saying Disney execs are crazy to get their hands on Logan. So I don't think it will take too long for Logan's debut in the MCU.

Hopefully, with that shared universe, they can find alternative ways to use and explore Wolverine while keeping the X-Men movies for other A-List members.

That's my hope as well. The general audience deserves to know that the X-Men are more than just Wolverine and that Wolverine is not what makes the X-Men awesome. I would love to see a poll 6-7 years from now with people split over who their favorite X-Men is.

And if Wolverine has to sit out the first 3 movies for that to happen and be in other MCU movies (maybe working for SHIELD), So be it. But Marvel will probably have in the second movie if not the first.

I just want one uber-successful X-Men film without Wolverine to prove once and for all that the X-Men are huge without him. He is not what makes the X-Men awesome, he makes the X-Men more awesome. He is an amazing character and once we establish how good everyone else is, then sure, throw this crazy guy in there to take things a notch higher and upset the balance for a while.

I don't see this happening either. The Fantastic Four are wayyy too big to be relegated to a show on their streaming service. I don't even think the budget is there for it. A proper F4 movie should be larger than life. They have never been utilized properly on film and I don't see Feige dismissing their potential to a streaming show instead of giving them the same treatment as the Avengers.

If Marvel can make Guardians of the Galaxy a household name, they sure as hell can do it for Marvel's first family.

If FF are relegated to a streaming show, then they will end up as second or third-tier characters or will be lost forever as big screen headliners. And if they get Scott Buck to do it, then you can bet it will make Trank's version seem like a big budget film and Story's like pure genius.

Marvel shouldn't worry about those previous versions and what the audience thought of them. Marvel have built up a lot of good will. The only reason FF are toxic is because of whose hands they are in, not because of the property itself. It's about who holds the property, not what the property is.

I think people will be happy to see him in a solo series or clashing/ teaming up with other MCU characters while the X-Men characters are built up and given their shot. If the X-Men films can get to their max potential I think we will eventually be looking at Avengers scale (first 2 films), and adding in Wolverine to something like that will really be something that grabs audience interest.

I hope they'll introduce the Alpha Flight; wasn't Wolverine a member of this Canadian team too?

Yes he was, and I wouldn’t mind that being part of his story for the MCU.

All I know is they better put Wolverine in a mask this go round.
It makes sense to do that this time as it would make him look quite different to his previous portrayal. I think it can be done well.

I saw this and I think it looks decent for an live action version:

This is the best case scenario. I really hope they go this route. And this time have Cyclops go toe to toe with Logan and prove to Logan as well as the audience that he was chosen to lead the team for a reason. He needs to look strong in front of Logan as opposed to what happened with Marsden in X1-DOFP, Logan dominating him and making Scott look weak

The big width of the pointed sections on the cowl look awful outside of the comic. Narrow the cowl and it could work.

That is well on the way to a good look that the films could target.

Start him off with a tiny mask like when he first showed up in Incredible Hulk #180-181. Only later on move to a bigger pointy section when he joins X-Men.

Yeah they need to be shown as equals while they are butting heads, and even in the midst of that the audience need to believe that Scott is a worthy leader of the team. I also want Storm as co-leader and I would love to see her deal with Wolverine differently.

I want a scene where Cyclops and Wolverine differ over the way a mission should be handled, and in the end it turns out Cyclops was right. It's one way to show that Professor Xavier picked the right person to lead the X-Men.

Does anyone else wonder how theyll update the marvel studios logo to include F4 and X-Men? Its already pretty long and a little self indulgent. I think they might have to remove some of the OG Avengers from the intro to make room for the new incoming franchises. if not remove them entirely. As much as I would want them to keep the OG Avengers in the logo going forward to pay homage you gotta make room for the next generation no sense in them keeping them in it if they arent involved anymore.

 Storm feels like Scott is being a bit immature stooping to Logan's level. She tries to approach Logan in a less poignant way. Scott on the other hand feels like he has to show that he's strong because Logan is trying to make him look like a fool. This could be an inverse on what happened in X1.

I would like to see Logan and Wolverine butting heads while Storm tries to break them up. But by the climax -- Scott and Logan have formed a mutal respect. Maybe even have Logan save him to prove to Scott that he was wrong about Logan being a lost cause and not caring. That Charles was right in seeing the good in him.
