I'm not paying much attention to the little details anymore. I feel confident it will be closed by March 31 or sooner and there are no circumstances that will stop that.

So we've got two months, at most, left and every day that passes just gets us closer.

It would be preferable to keep Deadpool's corner of the defunct Fox "universe" as-is. Wade and his cohorts work so well together that they should finish out the trilogy (along with X-Force). The Deadpool franchise is about the only thing that's worth saving from what Fox has done. Even if it means letting DP exist alongside the MCU in his own crazy sub-universe, it will be worthwhile for fans of the franchise.

I think this makes sense. I could see Colossus being transferred over to Uncanny X-Men for the MCU reboot. Otherwise, it is unlikely that Mr. Pool's universe would have an impact on Feige's future plans. And changes to the franchise brought on by the Disney purchase can be explained with some well timed fourth wall breaking.

I liked the Deadpool Colossus but I still want a new and better one in the MCU.

He's practically perfect though. The only difference they could do is give him his classic red and yellow X-Men uniform. Otherwise he's very comic accurate already and certainly better than the Singer Colossus that we got in the X-Men films. What else would you improve on him?

Theres a lot you can do to improve on him. For one this colossus is only a cgi gimmick, he's made up of like 3 actors none of which can play him in his regular state. So you dont get the benefit of his human appearance. Which makes him less of a character than other xmen, pretty much reduces him down to a plot device that can only have so much limited screen time considering how much he cost to produce. Which also limits some interactions you could display with kitty. Deadpool colossus is great for his purpose there, but fundamentally lacks a few things if you wanted to take things a step further with him.

I suspect, if anything, Deadpool would be the only character directly carried over (and even then, while they may use Ryan Reynolds and basically the same character, I don't think the details of the first two films will be considered canon).

Feige is going to want to introduce the mutants on his terms, and I don't think he's going to want any of the details of the first two Deadpool screwing that up.

And to be completely honest, while Deadpool is the one Fox character that might be carried over, it's far from a sure thing. I'm sure there will be many arguing to keep him and it will be hard to ignore the box-office potential, but I have a feeling Feige may not want to spend the effort required to integrate him directly.

well.... biggest difference from the comics is that..... he's an actual human looking mutant?

Deadpool's version is more a parody than a 3Dimensional character.

Make him an actual character? Fleshing him out, giving him real flaws and attributes, real fears and strengths. Giving him an arc and character development that has payoff? Introducing Illyana and exploring Piotr's relationship with her and then later on, introducing Mikhail and having Piotr be the heart of that story.

Deadpool Colossus is great for what he is, but he serves as nothing more than a 1 Dimensional cutout cloth of Colossus. Yes, it's nice to see a Colossus that looks he was pulled straight out of the comics + Russian accent. But there's a reason why he is NEVER seen outside of his armored form. There is more to Colossus' character than spouting inspirational speeches to Wade Wilson and being reduced to a joke.

There Is a A LOT Marvel can improve and the first step is creating a well-rounded character who's not merely a punchline.

I think Colossus is one of many X-Men who could carry his own film. And ideally, that's what I'd like to see Marvel do - like with the Avengers, introduce some of the X-Men characters in films in which they are the primary characters so we can get to know them.

A frustrating element of the Fox X-Men films is I never got to know the characters in a way that made me care about them. I hope and expect Marvel will do a much better job of that, and Colossus could be a good one to start with.

I'd love to see a Colossus movie. There's a lot of ground to cover, starting with him as a humble kid growing up in Russia on a farm, dealing with the "death" of his brother (we'd find out later this isn't truly the case) I wouldn't mind an X-Men movie from his POV either, with him as the center. He's one of the most pure-hearted characters in the X-Family and it would be interesting to see the X-Men/events through his eyes. And it would be nice to finally see his relationship with Kitty Pryde explored in a movie.

Daniel Cudmore was well cast, shame we never got to see what his interpretation of the character would have looked like - since in all 3 appearances, he served as nothing more than a VFX sizzle reel.

I'm sure Marvel can find a big guy who can act well enough, do a good Russian accent and they can transfer his likeness easily to a CGI steeled up Colossus.

Deadpools version looks fine, but to be great he needs that human side too.

From seeking alpha.

There's still no decision in Brazil on required sales in the $71B-plus asset deal between Walt Disney (DIS -1.3%) and Fox (FOX -0.1%, FOXA -0.2%), says the key counselor at the regulator involved.

Polyanna Vilanova, the responsible counselor at antitrust regulator CADE, tells Bloomberg that the case is still being studied ahead of a March 17 deadline (a deadline that could yet see a requested extension for another 90 days).

Reports that CADE would demand selling either Fox Sports or ESPN are just speculation, Vilanova says.

Meanwhile, Disney again extended expiration on an exchange offer for any and all of the $18.13B in notes issued by Fox unit Twenty-First Century Fox America. The new expiration has moved to 5 p.m. NYC time on Feb. 19 from the same time on Feb. 6.

Disney says settlement of the offer is expected to occur promptly after the expiration date, "on or about the closing date of the acquisition" -- which means it's likely to be extended again if the acquisition's unlikely to get closure then.

Estado had reported that CADE would call for the disposal of sports channels since in Brazil, the merger would leave its two key sports networks (ESPN and Fox Sports) with just one owner

Brazil still dragging their feet as we can see  Who would have thought that Brazil would be more difficult than China. Everybody thought the latter was going to be the biggest road block.

Wonder if it's possible to pull out of Brazil altogether if they keep being difficult

I have a sinking feeling this is gonna get dragged out till June. Disney just doesnt seem to want to give up sports channels in Brazil. Which means x-men and f4 will miss comic con. Maybe by D23 if we're lucky. Which I believe is in August.

Gambit here we come!

Maybe Simon Kinberg has promised the Brazilians something to delay the process, so that he can get the sequel to Dark Phoenix and Fant4stic out, and make a start on Gambit.

Fortunately Edgar Wright isn't Brazilian, otherwise we could be in this for the long haul - perhaps until the next time Brazil hosts the World Cup. :o

To be taken with a grain of salt, of course...

June is way too long, especially when it was meant to be the first quarter of the year, and potentially March.

Damn that would be brutal if true. As much as we all dont want it to be released I still think it should be released for the cast. No one should have their worked shelved.

Heres the source of the June closing date.

New Mutants looks like a really cheap, wannabe horror movie that not even Netflix would bother with. Movie looks like a major bomb that will lose money even with the modest budget its got(which looks to increase thanks to costly reshoots). I'd be truly flabbergasted if it gets anything other than a limited release. It would be preferable if it gets dumped on Hulu instead of getting a wide release but that will be for Disney to decide once the deal is closed.
