I researched the list of remaining countries needing approval I found Chile of course, and I think other but out of all of them their seems to be hurdles regarding Cable sports only in Brazil and Mexico.

Their studio profits were up for the quarter, also.

At the end of the day, Spider-Man's best chance at renewal is to perform well when FFH comes out. Bottom line.

Yes but one the main reasons for the deal in 2014-2015 was that Sony overall was doing poorly. And rumour has it Sony Japan forced Sony to make the deal with Marvel. If its true I hope Sony Japan sees the value in keeping the deal going.

Sony the film studio was doing poorly at the time. Sony as a company may have dropped overall, but the film division actually was one of their better assets this past quarter. So it really is an apples to oranges comparison.

No news on how the Mexico review went? I'm gonna assume they approved it if they don't say anything.

I think Colossus is one of many X-Men who could carry his own film. And ideally, that's what I'd like to see Marvel do - like with the Avengers, introduce some of the X-Men characters in films in which they are the primary characters so we can get to know them.

A frustrating element of the Fox X-Men films is I never got to know the characters in a way that made me care about them. I hope and expect Marvel will do a much better job of that, and Colossus could be a good one to start with.
I am hopeful we get either extended cameos, mini-series or films to introduce some of the early X-Men they want to use. If they did something in depth with Colossus it would also be an intro for Magik and Mikhail Rasputin.

Brazil still dragging their feet as we can see  Who would have thought that Brazil would be more difficult than China. Everybody thought the latter was going to be the biggest road block.

Wonder if it's possible to pull out of Brazil altogether if they keep being difficult
A shame as it’s still a big market.

If they pull out temporarily for the sake of expediting the deal, can they go back in later? Or once they've pulled out, are they done with Brazil permanently?

Too much money at stake to ever be done with Brazil permanently.

They currently have Gunn's draft he worked on before he got fired, but obviously I expect that to be greatly retooled when/if they find a new director. though I do wonder if they can get away with doing third Guardians film as a crossover film with the Fantastic Four in order to get folks hyped for a solo FF film? Okay, maybe not a crossover but I do wonder if having the MCU Fantastic Four debut through a Guardians cameo is a way for the audience to get excited about Fantastic Four after the stench of the previous iteration? The possibilities are quite endless.

Though if I had my druthers I'd rather Marvel abandon GOTG Vol. 3 and just start working on FF but given the immense success of Guardians Of The Galaxy franchise and the immense failure of the FF(especially the previous film) I know that's not a realistic expectation at all, but one can dream, right?

All tho this is the same article from a few days ago. its picking up steam which means its likely true. The new bit of information is Disney must divest ESPN AND Fox sports in Brazil to get approval. So approval with conditions is basically confirmed.

They have to sell ESPN in Brazil on top of Fox sports. Oof.

Disney terá de vender canal de esporte, diz Cade

Sounds like things in Brazil could be moving along, which is good. I'm not ready to pop the champagne just yet, though; Willie and I have sort of talked about this, but I can't seem to have any other mindset than "it's not over 'til its over"- especially with how Brazil and Mexico have been.

We'll get through it, man. Nothing is stopping this train. I believe by next month, the deal will be done

Maybe there are some FFINO defenders in Brazil who are holding up the process? Or where is Constantin films located these days? :o

if by the end of March Brazil hasnt approved the deal..... Brazil better get prepared for the winter war :funny:

I hate to be that guy but I'm still not feeling Larson in the role. Something about her voice is kind of... off to me.

Last year it was being reported that a Kitty Pryde film was in development written by Brian Micheal Bendis.

Despite the pending Fox/Disney merger: Brian Micheal Bendis confirms that he's still in the process of writing the script for the Kitty Pryde film with Deadpool director Tim Miller involved.

Back when this was announced; the prospects of the Disney deal happening looked rather uncertain considering it wasn't too long after it was widely reported on that Comcast was planning to out bid the Mouse for the Fox assets(and they ultimately did) so this project had a much more healthier chance of happening since back then there did exist a very real possibility the deal could fall apart and the rights never revert back to Marvel. Fortunately, Comcast eventually lost the bidding war, and now the deal looks to be getting closer and closer to the finish line(there's been a few headaches with Brazil and Mexico so far but overall its still looking likely it'll close fairly soon) thus leaving pretty much any Fox project that hasn't already been shot in jeopardy of being cancelled once the Marvel rights Fox currently has the license to reverts back to Marvel, and they wipe the slate clean with the X-Men film franchise. Bendis is just a writer, not a producer so he isn't calling the shots or anything and it'd really be up to Feige once the rights return to Marvel on whether the movie happens or not.

So guys(and gals) may I ask: Would you want to see a Brian Micheal Bendis written Kitty Pryde film survive the forthcoming merger and be repurposed for the MCU or do you think it's a project that should never happen?
