Regarding Doom not being in the 1st movie at least they could be saving him for an Avengers arc. Then he spins off to being a fantastic four villain.

There's no post of mine there, but I was one of the people who didn't want the X-Men in the MCU at all. I thought it would be better having a Studio taking care only of the huge mutant universe.

And although I do have a lot of problems with the portrayal of the X-Men in DoFP, it was a really good movie. And it had it gave the promise and hope of a clean timeline with almost the entire X-Men universe ahead. And the promise of new characters like Jean, Scott and Ororo taking the leading roles. And the promise of a shared universe with spin-offs like Logan, Deadpool, New Mutants and X-Force...

Fox really ruined it. For me at least.

I didn't post in that thread either. My personal preference would be to keep X-Men in a separate universe to the rest of the MCU but with the potential for crossover. That would solve the problem of why they are persecuted while the rest of the heroes aren't. And also why we haven't heard of mutants up until now.

But I doubt Marvel will go this route. Maybe if they had the X-Men from the start and it had never been done by Fox. But since we have all these Fox films, then to distinguish it from them, Marvel are likely going to have the characters interact with other MCU heroes.

I wonder if they might try and get Fantastic Four out by May 2020. I really dont think Black Widow would wow the audience in a prime summer release date. Its better suited for a late summer release. Then maybe the sequel can get the big May release date. More than likely Feige has been working on the Fantastic Four since last summer.

Highly doubt it. We'll be lucky if we get it by 2022.

I personally hope for November 2021 to coincide with the comics 60th anniversary, but even that is pushing it.

They signed the Sony deal in Feb 2015 and got Homecoming out by July 2017 and had a turn around of 28 months. so applying that timetable to the Fox deal closing say this month. 28 months from now would be July of 2021. Right in the middle of the 60th anniversary it could work.

I could see F4 being a hybrid of Ultimate and 616. Cosmic adventure sounds nice. Not sure how to feel about the F4 being 20-somethings again..

If that was true it would be a huge prospect and could totally set up the future of the cosmic side of the MCU.

Marvel probably say they haven't got any detailed plans at all while the Disney Fox deal is going on. At most, they'll say they discussed a few ideas over the water cooler. But just watch. As soon as the deal is done, they'll probably wheel out detailed scripts and everything mapped out.

Will they get into trouble if suddenly show they had these plans all along even when they weren't supposed to be doing anything but continuing business as usual?

I mean if Disney knows they are closing the deal on the 8th and have got all the required approvals they just havent announced it publicly then legally they can start developing films based on those franchises.

I mean could they have been legally allowed to develop the films all this time since the deal was going on when approvals hadn't started coming in yet? I'm guessing they probably couldn't. But if they didn't tell anyone they were doing anything, but then once all approvals are in, they show that they had been developing it all along, can they get into trouble retroactively because it would show they had actually been conducting business when they shouldn't have been?

Well, it was not that hard to guess. But the important thing is that Marvel plans to properly build up to it. Because doing AvX right out the gate wouldn't make sense

That’s from the same site that mentioned the Silver Surfer origin movie. I’d like to see other sites back these up at some time or it’s hard to put much stock into them. AvX could be an epic event but it would need loads of buildup (the article does mention that re stepping stones).

Disney announced the deal the same day Last Jedi came out. So I think not. Announcing it the same day as Captain Marvel would just mean more Disney headlines in the news which is only a good thing. And would probably boost their stock.
