It'd be nice if they announced the FF cast like they announced Black Panther.

SDCC and D23 are coming...

I think that'll be too soon to announce anything in regards to casting. I do think D23 will see Marvel make a "Phase 4" announcement. Hopefully a Fantastic 4 movie is announced

They just have to tell us something by D23. That arrives in late August, so after Spider-Man: Far From Home, which coincides with when feige said details would be announced.

Yep. I think D23 is our best bet for them to announce films, or a separate event. I think we'll hear about Eternals and Black Widow casting at D23 and they'll announce said films and release dates. I think we'll get official confirmation on Black Panther, Doctor Strange and Captain Marvel 2 then as well.

I could see them announcing which films we'll get in 2020 til maybe 2023? I don't think they'll go overboard with it

What does he say in the video? Can't watch it now.

in the past he used to say things like "well the merger isnt complete yet" now hes changed to "well have access to all these characters very soon" so Iger must be keeping him in the loop which is exciting. But basically he just talks about how exciting it will be to finally have access to all their characters.

You can easily tell Feige's just as excited as we all are(maybe even more so) to get those rights back. He definitely can't wait to get his hands on the X-Men/Fantastic Four(and all ancillary characters tied to them) and to a lesser extent Deadpool.

Perhaps Feige has been keeping hope alive longer than anyone here...privately.

Probably since 2006. The year he left the X-Men franchise to start MS

The day the deal is announced to be closed will be a historic day in not just in hype history but in Marvel in general.

I remember back when he was talking about "contingencies". I'll bet he's had FF and X-Men characters penciled in for the last 10 years just hoping he'd get them at some point.

This is the point everybody keeps forgetting. Hence why I very much doubt he'll wait 5 years to do F4/X-Men

Feige would make an X-Men movie tomorrow if they let him. That man is probably more gassed than us to have these characters back and it shows. I honestly can't wait to see what they have in store for the mutants and the First Family.

ETA: Speaking of mutants, he really may wanna consider adding Rogue, Mystique and Destiny to Captain Marvel's inevitable sequel. I can't believe some people are calling it mundane. She needs the Brotherhood to spice things up...

The deal is closing next week. Disney gave the exchange offers and consent solicitations a 48 hours extension the shortest one yet it's happening.

I can't believe how close it's getting! But did something change? Wasn't it supposed to be this week? This sounds like something from an official report- do you have a source?

Oh, and what does your second sentence mean in... errrr... English?

More awesome news. Does this wrap it up for the regulatory approvals?

The Walt Disney Company Announces Extension of Exchange Offers and Consent Solicitations for 21st Century Fox America, Inc. Notes - The Walt Disney Company

In the past Disney delayed it another week or so but this delay was only 48 hours implying they are probably moving it to a date better suited for closing. Once the exchange commences the deal will probably close the following week i.e March 18th which is a Monday. Its better to have both companies have legal-Day 1 at the start of a new week. Just makes merging their financials and other stuff easier.

I know some wouldn't be a fan of this but I definitely want it. At least as side villains. They dont need the whole Brotherhood but I want to at least see Mystique (behind the scenes) and Rogue. I mean, it does so much to set up the X-Men world and it gives Carol a very dangerous enemy that she can't defeat with brute strength.

I imagine someone like Moonstone would be the main villain but I want Rogue in the movie

Mystique, Rogue, Destiny and Avalanche would be so f***** dope.
this way you introduce an A-list X-Men and a new male member of the brotherhood that can be used in future movies.

I would be sooo excited if Feige announces all those four for the same movie. and a movie without Charles, Wolverine and Magneto. would be so fresh and exciting. Carol vs Rogue on the big screen would be.... :wow::woo:

Hey, if they introduced them all in Captain Marvel 2, you wouldn't hear any complaints from me :D

And it's just the irony of it all too. Of all the aliens and titans Carol Danvers faced, she meets her first real big defeat at the hands (no pun) of a random mutant. That could really drive home the humans vs mutants narrative too, seeing Captain Marvel get her ass handed to her by Rogue and Mystique.

I also want them to showcase Rogue as the physical threat she was introduced as in the comics. This chick took on the Avengers and X-Men by herself and beat their asses all the while calling them 'sugah' and 'dahlin'.

Beautifully said on all front. Really serves to illustrate just how dangerous and unpredictable mutants really are in the MCU

Might be just me but I'm fine with waiting til June for this thing to close. The last thing I want is for Fox's Dark Phoenix movie to have any connection to Disney, Feige and the MCU.

Now if Dark Phoenix is fast-tracked to tomorrow, then by all means have the Disney-Fox deal close the Day After Tomorrow.

Wait, what does the deal closing before June have to do with Phoenix connecting? Aside from Kinberg trying to spin it

They’re gonna cast a black actress as a... black character?

Sigh. I may be cynical, but I actually can see a wave of vituperation happening, due to the convergence of a bunch of factors:

1. Fans of the Fox movies will look for any excuse to denigrate the new casting, because its Marvel/Disney, and thus automatically bad.

2. 'Colorism' is a real thing. There will probably be a good chunk of outrage over Ororo either being too dark colored or too light colored.

3. Racists will, of course, racist.

IMO, the really big balls of outrage tend to be when multiple factors cross over, or even merge ( I doubt that black viewers feeling touchy about skin color will exactly make common cause with overt racists, but in terms of broader geek culture? Oi. ).

Kevin Feige on ‘Captain Marvel’, the ‘Avengers: Endgame’ Title, ‘Eternals’, Disney+ Content, and More

The first time I watched it, I was halfway through the movie, and I forgot about the technology. Which is why I’m just curious, because so much of Marvel’s history is from the ’60s and ’70s.

FEIGE: We love period pieces. World War II with the first Cap, the ’90s here, so we’re open to all of them, and we’d love to do it, and love to continue to fill out the lost gaps in MCU and the MCU timelines, of which ’60s and ’70s are a part of that.

I know a certain 4 and X that could fill an MCU gap in the 60s and 70s

Hell yes! Please give us F4 set in the 60's.
