Revengers sounds more like a joke on Avengers than Defenders. And it was only Valkyrie with Hulk and Thor, and Hulk and Thor are in the Avengers.

All three of whom have been part of the Defenders team.

Reshoots aren't happening so I doubt she ends up in the movie

A "New Mutants Updates" twitter handle has obviously ran out updates to tweet about, on a movie that's not going anywhere and is now just making up news on their own, and is now being spread here. Sigh.

For the short term I agree, for the mid/long term I vehemently disagree. Disney has always half assed its efforts in the video game industry.

Disney also has a rough track record publishing and making hard PG 13 and R rated movies, both of which Iger admitted they didn't do right hence why they got out of it and the Fox acquisition allows them to go into it and making it the right way.

I'm not convinced making hard PG 13 and R rated movies is going to be a successful business for the Mouse. It's outside of their wheelhouse, there's a crapload of competion, it won't be monetized in their theme parks, and the end product won't be a fit for the Disney Plus streamer.

I don't think the Mouse should try to be all things for all people. Disney's became a media giant by focusing on family friendly product and I wouldn't be surprise if the move to adult oriented content ends like their past efforts in video game publishing.

These trailers are starting to scare me. The only thing I like about that one is the last 10 seconds.

Sure, I'm going, how could I not? But if I just made my decision based on the trailers, I'd say: "This looks pretty dreary and boring."

I have to think they are holding off on the good stuff - the time traveling shenanigans and Carol punching Thanos - until we get closer to the release date. If I don't get that I'm only seeing this twice!

They could be trying to mislead you into thinking it's boring. They could probably even put out something like Fant4stic with a final shot of MBJ saying "see it anyway!" and it could be completely trolling people with fake footage like they did with Infinity War last year.

We can agree to disagree. Disney failed multiple times into breaking into the boys teen market until they a grand slam with Marvel.

And they better cook up a good ass explanation for why mutants and all of their incredible powers have been dormant in the MCU before the 2020s. Thanos kills half the world and they don’t retaliate?

The explanation for Carol Danvers is acceptable but they gotta give us a really good one for mutants to come charging in all of a sudden.

Yeah... but they don't want add anything too revealing. I think the audience that watched Infinity War is built in, so they're already planning on going. As for those who didn't see Infinity War -- it really doesn't make much sense to watch this one anyway.

The trailer is a bit underwhelming but it’s fine and its clear they’re avoiding showing too much in order to save the good stuff for when you go and watch the movie. It doesn’t have to be a great trailer but an effective one and I say this was very effective. This trailer had an air of somber finality to it that is fitting for a movie that will serve as essentially the series finale of this era of the MCU. The trailer starts off by recapping the first times we saw these characters because this is likely going to be the last movie that we see of any them(barring a recast).

They don't need one. Why didn't Fury call out to Captain Marvel when the world was being invaded by aliens in Avengers? The vast, vast majority of the audience simply doesn't remember of if they do, they don't care. It happened off-screen. There, done.

Continuity isn't that important. Getting the characters (and in this case the mutant concept) right is. Having mutants come from Thanos or some other dimension or something diminishes them. We all know the real reason they weren't around.

It's as simple as mutants having a small population and being in hiding, but more and more mutants are being born. Meaning that very soon it's going to be impossible to hide. After the Thanos situation they thought people were ready to know about them, but they were wrong. Tensions are higher and anything that's not "normal" is looked on with contempt even moreso after the events of Infinity War and Endgame.

There you have a reason why we never heard about them and a reason why they are appearing now. I'm sure Marvel can come up with something even better.

This movie is going to be insanely huge. The trailer is exactly what it needed to be

I’ve seen a lot mixed reactions to the trailer but one has to ask yourself? What matters more a good trailer or a good movie?

I will always pick the latter.
