I remember being on vacation in Chicago when I saw X-men. We were mistakenly told the wrong theatre number so we walked in and the movie was already in it's third act. The first thing I heard was Wolverine to Magneto: "You're so full of ****. If you're really so righteous, it'd be you in that thing." We quickly left that theatre so we can wait for our showtime.
I remember paying for my comic books at Golden Age Collectables in downtown Vancouver and in walks this girl with a white stripe on her hair and gapped-front teeth. Then I saw her face. It's Anna Paquin and she's on a break from filming X2. I get her to sign the comic book I just bought, X-treme X-men 17 with Rogue on the cover. (She later mentions me on an interview).
Years later I remember seeing a black gentleman on a skytrain platform, waiting for a train. I recognize him as one of the blink-or-you'll-miss it background extras at the museum scene at the beginning of X2.
I remember going downtown to watch them filming X-men: The Last Stand. It's the scene where Ben Foster, Angel, jumps out San Francisco's Transamerica Pyramid Building. This one shot at Sheraton Vancouver Wall Centre.
I remember standing on Dunsmuir Viaduct watching across the "bridge" while they're filming Deadpool on the Georgia Viaduct. I remember seeing a taller-than-normal fella with a grey and black CGI suit on. I remember hearing on the PA system of the set, a voice relaying some directions to the cast and crew and I remember distinctly hearing "and then Colossus goes." I remember talking pics of this tall fella and then tweeting it out. I remember this was the first "confirmation" that Colossus was in this movie.
I remember traveling to Montreal, because I was invited to a set visit to X-men: Apocalypse. I remember seeing Kodi and Ben on wires to shoot their fight scene above "Egypt." I remember being stressed out.
I remember running into this lady with a red cloth over her head during Taiwan Fest on a sunny Vancouver afternoon. I remember my brother asking me: "Isn't that Zazie?" Why yes it was Domino, on a break from filming Deadpool 2.
I remember speaking out my dissatisfaction with Kinberg being hired to direct Dark Phoenix and being told by his fans that I should stop posting on the X-men boards because I was clearly not a fan.
I had the exact opposite reaction to Mystique, uhhh. I thought she was hot. Argh, man, I was obsessed with that movie when it came out. I don't think I had ever been that excited for a movie again until the first Avengers film 12 years later.
