I think it could be.
Dude! I think it is the same cog. Good find. I'm guessing this is the aftermath.Same cog?

1. That very well could be the case. Two things.
1.What is Gobby looking up at? Is Gwen barely hanging onto something and when she let's go, Gobby lets Spidey go but not in time?
2. What is he holding in his left hand? A glider control? Wait..That looks oddly similar to the thing Doc Connors used to draw blood.. He's trying to get Peter's blood!
1. That very well could be the case.
2. I think you're right.
Well with #2, we still don't know for sure if he has something to get Peter's blood, so its not a "confirmation." But I think its very likely.Whoop whoop, we agreed!
As far as #2...Does that confirm the theorized plotline in which Harry needs Peter's blood for Norman?

There is no doubt, this is the same cog. The petina matches all around...
So, I think it makes sense that this is what happens:
1. they crash through the domed roof:

2. Gwen falls onto this cog:

3. Spiderman and Gobbie fight up above:

4. Something happens to cause Gwen to fall.

5. Peter jumps down and webs Gwen.

6. Gwen hangs by the web.

7. Goblin attacks and Peter loases the web, causing Gwen to plummet to her death.

8. Gwen dies:

This is what I'm thinking as well! I really like the execution of it being in the Clocktower though. It reminds me of Deathly Hallows Pt. 2 and them substituting the Shrieking Shack with the Boathouse: it's not the bridge, but contains more of a romantic place to die, if that makes sense.![]()
^Agreed.
I've felt for a while now that what Webb did was create a scene where we would have Gwen, wearing the same clothing that she died in in The Night Gwen Stacy Died, at the bridge with Peter.
For us FanBoys (if the Marketing people never released so many images in the trailers, etc.) we would have been drooling over the expectation that Gwen was about to die. But then she wouldn't...
That was going to be his trick, as these movies always need some twist for the fanboys. Of course, in the end, she was going to die, but that initial twist would have been great in Webb's mind, while TASM2 was being written.
As great as it's been to see so much, it is a bit disappointing how much they have released!
I think that as Spidey's holding onto Gwen's webline, the Goblin comes swooping in behind them, knocks Spidey and causes him to lose his grip on the line. Sort of like the whole Spidey/Goblin/MJ bit during the Spider-Man 1 finale... except Gwen actually falls to her death. Seems like Peter's at the bottom of the clocktower too when he screams, so... yeah.

It does kinda look like their at the bottom of the clock tower, but idk I still think she'll die from Peter catching her with the web.
Has to be.
No, it doesn't.
The impact of Gwen's death on Peter will be just as significant if he loses hold of her and she plummets to her death as it would be if she were to die in his attempt to save her.
