really, frank miller? that was the most disgusting thing done in comics? not DK2, or all star batman?

Miller wrote some bad stories, but he didn't hand creative control over to the audience. I don't necessarily agree with his statement, but I understand his point.
While it's certainly true that the audience must be considered by the artist, the artist must also acknowledge, as Alan Moore said, that if the audience knew what they needed, they wouldn't be the audience--they'd be the artist. If the audience was really in charge, some great stories would have never seen the light of day. A few years ago, fans might have voted against the existence of Morrison's Batman & Robin, for example.

Now I know how important that Zorro connection was! It was Bruce's one link to superhero stories with crazy-ass costumes!
