We could still have both Option 1, and a new suit. Granted, the first official picture released would probably want to showcase the new suit, unless of course it comes in at a pivotal moment that they don't want to reveal yet.

Speaking of which, my prediction is that we're for sure getting a new suit (or at least some noticeable variation), but the TDK suit may still be there, just as the BB suit was in TDK.

Option 1 you can throw away. There is no way in heck we won't get a new suit.

WB will not let that roll even if God himself were directing.

It'll either be 2 or 3.

Yes, but why do you guys expect a new suit will appear in the beginning of the film? Chances are, the first set photos we get will be with the TDK suit. But that's only if they're shooting it chronologically.

I never once said beginning.

I expect we'll get one at some point. If its in the beginning, middle or near the end is a mystery but rest assured that a new suit will be used.

As for the TDK suit appearing in TDKR is somewhat of a given.

For hope.

Yeah, that would be it. Or maybe just wishful thinking.

I think it might help if we knew how much time was passing between the two movies. If it's like a year later, you never know, he might have made some changes. If the story picks up right where it leaves off, it seems less likely.

lol There will be a new one. It's not even worth worrying about.

Yup.

WB's gotta make some new toys and costumes, don't they? :)

If they're Movie Masters you bet your ass.

I just hope they make a decent Bat cowl for this movie. I want my Batsuit to look perfect. -_-

EDIT: 400th post! WOO!

I agree the suit for Batman Live is a bit over the top, but the villains look good. The clips they've shown to look awesome to, I like how the opening shot of Gotham, it reminds me of the Mask of the Phantasm intro.

I think we can all agree however, this is DC's B*tchslap to Spider-Man Turn off the Dark's costume.
Isnt the "SM turn off the dark" (wtf is this title anyway?) the classic SM suit we saw in the movies?

Yes, and I have a very good idea why. Toy sales for WB. Not even Nolan can escape that little demand from the boys at corporate.

All Batman movies have had a new costume. Every single one.

TDKR will be no different. Lucky that we have Nolan though who incorporates all the new costumes in a great way and allows some good screen time between Fox and Wayne.

Bale and Freeman have great chemistry so I definitely welcome the new suit along with hopefully a new mode of air transportation courtesy of applied sciences.

Correction sir, Wayne Tech no longer has an Applied Sciences Division. I believe the wing was done away with under the auspices of Mr. Fox's predecessor. ;)

Yeah it is. And no idea about that crazy title, but it reeks of M.Bay (Dark of the Moon) I mean... Jesus H. Christ!

Yeah. The Live suit has the bolted leg look. Why the suit needs fastening bolts is beyond me. Does it look cool? In the video game world, with artificial light it looks great. In the real world, not so much. The TDK suit looks great and makes sense.
Right, because the bolts equate to an accurate depiction of the AA suit. Therefore the one thing it has in common with the game makes enough proof that kind of costume wouldn't work. :whatever:

Plus, the legs resemble TDK's more than anything.

The TDK suit is silly because it is unflattering for Christian Bale's body, making him look like he is short and has a big head. It's overdesigned with far too many segments, the legs are atrocious, the cape is basically a black towel wrapped around his neck and it's rubber... again.

The Batman Live costume is, once again, far too detailed, the cape is exactly the same as the TDK costume, and has equally atrocious legs.

Wow....we agree on something....:wow:

I'd love a new suit, but if not...*sigh* let's hope Batman stays in the darkness more often.

This suit

looks awful (though it's a logical extension of the "realistic" bat armor idea). But the cowl is better than the ones in either of the Nolan movies.

If it wasnt chrome and 4 sizes too big, it wouldnt look as bad. I have no idea what the hell happened with Robin though, :down

Yup.

You know, the thing I find funny about the toy argument is the fact that, despite what Batman actually wears in the comics, the toy companies come out with several variations of the character no matter what.

I have a Batman Returns toy in which Batman has a bright yellow "underwater' suit. Unless it's a deleted scene, I don't remember Keaton strapping on yellow tights. And I'm pretty sure I remember some BB toys in which there was a "ninja Batman" with a red suit and some added gadgets or something.

So I really wonder, what's the point on leaning on the filmmakers to display multiple suits to sell toys, if the toy companies are going to make multiple variations no matter what happens in the movie?

So Nolan's logical reason for re-designing the suit from Batman Begins (apart from toy sales)... was incorporated into The Dark Knight...

''Need to be faster i'm carrying to much weight''... etc.

So I suppose he will used the ''vulnerable to knifes and gunfire'' as the excuse in Rises...

I'm guessing they will hopefully find a happy medium... BUT I get the feeling that Nolan was thrilled was the suit in the second movie so I don't think they will be changing it too much sadly. :csad:

I'm guessing that the original toys sell more. I know from personal experience that i never touched those silly variations as a child. I always went for the original one.

Hes gonna need one with a reinforced spine :o

I'm going to need a reinforced gag reflex if the design gets any worse.

They could go with the Halo inspired design:
