Not at all bud...and I didn't make any other part.

That cowl is sweet. The only thing I don't like about it is that his actual ears aren't as hidden. This may suit your purpose:

Did you start with a cast of the actual actor's head?

Well, we were only talking about the cowl. That's a nice cowl but I wouldn't want a comic-esque Bat-suit in the Nolan movies, It wouldn't work. The armored style works perfectly and makes it believable enough for the story.
Not at all.
That was a personal project...my own sculpt and design on a totally generic life cast. Again, we're going back about 8 years so it's a little fuzzy at this point, and I did make several designs back then.
Here's the sculpt of the one above:

It was textured, not glass smooth and yes the ear outlines were purposely left in. I wanted a different cowl design at the time....
Again, it's pretty cool to see this one is holding up to the test of time. Thanks again folks.

Farg, not another "it wouldn't work" first postThat's a nice cowl but I wouldn't want a comic-esque Bat-suit in the Nolan movies, It wouldn't work. The armored style works perfectly and makes it believable enough for the story.

But....but...the realizm....teh realizm.Farg, not another "it wouldn't work" first post![]()

While it's true that the 'standing on police car pic' went go over pretty well, feelings toward the suit went down hill quickly from there. What I found most interesting during that period was the number of people who had previously expressed a dislike of the Begins suit suddenly taking a liking to that ole rubber suit once they got a good look at the TDK blunderI'm just astonished so many people appear to dislike TDK suit now, I seem to remember the consensus a little differently, especially after that first pic leaked with him on top of the police car.
I don't have a problem with Nolan's Batman being rooted in realism... the thing is: realism and a suit that is not obviously armored are not incompatible ideas.But....but...the realizm....teh realizm.

The more we saw of it, the worse it looked.I'm just astonished so many people appear to dislike TDK suit now, I seem to remember the consensus a little differently, especially after that first pic leaked with him on top of the police car.
I do recall some of the "Ironman" jokes, but all in all, I can't remember such disdain. The only thing I can't stand about it now is the cowl, the whole thing needed to go, from the way it made his neck look (which I understand but still..) to the way the nose was, even the way it hugged the exposed portion of his face. If they did something about that but kept the same basic suit, I wouldn't have too much of an issue.
The lighting and angle really helped the TDK batsuit in the first photo. However, we were immediately introduced to those ugly-ass legs.
Unfortunately, it was a case of me disliking the suit the more I saw it. For some reason, the batsuit had to look like a scrap-heap in order to pass as "teh realistic armor."
Of all the things they need to change on the cowl, it's the beak. The best example of me completely HATING the TDK cowl is in the interrogation room scene with the Joker. When Batman first sits down and says "You wanted me - here I am," the cowl looks like it doesn't even fit Bale's head. The mouth and chin are all weird, you can't even see his eyes. It's like the mask is drooping on his face. The tip of the nose is almost touching his mouth, which makes NO sense.

That's an excellent way to put itI agree. I feel like the suit had so much going on, and the design was so busy and over-produced, a glimpse of it suddenly felt like abstract art. It was a diarrhea of material. And it made no practical sense. I look at it and I say to myself "Why is THAT there? What is THAT thing's function?" It's just a bunch of STUFF.
