BB one looks better to me. TDK one looks just silly in that pic

That's the thing about both of them....the more you look at them in various pics, the worse they look. But luckily, I think they both work in the film.

The Keaton one I felt was too wide. That's why I think it was refined more by the time they got to Kilmer.

The suit from BB is the best,BB is also the better movie still.

Both the BB and TDK suits were important, they made some interesting points, but it's definitely time for a different bat-suit in the film.

I'm usually pulling my hairs off whenever a live-action film does so much as change the colour-pattern on the comic suit, but now, surprisingly here I am wanting a new Bat-suit that gives us something unique rather than being a rehash.

The BB suit was okay for the 'creature of the night' feel, and the TDK suit (which has grown on me) is, with all its robotic splendour, the kind of suit a modern knight would wear; light-weight, in fragmented pieces of armour, and has that chainmail-ish thing going beneath it. With TDKR I'd definitely want a different approach, perhaps one that is classical, or perhaps one that just reassess the ideas from BB and TDK. By all means go for a combination of Batman Begins and The Dark Knight (suits) but don't do it blatantly, if you must logically proceed from BB and TDK, take the IDEAS rather than the direct DESIGNS. Retain the creature feature, the darkness, as well as the light-weight, function-savvy elements from the last two films, but do something unique to combine them together.

I'm still expecting a somewhat thinner Batman, it emphasises youth somehow from a visual standpoint, and this Batman is all about being at the initial stage of his career.

I personally love the 89 suit, as it reminds me of the Troika design used after prodigal, which is my favorite batsuit.

I wouldn't mind seeing it updated for modern times, that way he can turn his head and such.

I do think Returns had the better cowl and symbol though, I myself just wasn't a fan of the washboard abs. Here are both the '89 and Returns suits being endorsed by Bob Kane. I really think Returns also had my favorite cape.

Agreed, some of the greatest shots of Batman are from Returns and 89'. Burton just knew how to light Batman and the cowl was great.

All of these Keaton Batman pictures are making me nostalgic! :hrt:

It's also pretty cool to see Keaton in the suit behind the scenes.

It's a shame it's with Bob Kane, and not Bill Finger, the real genius behind Batman.

Yeah, Kane really gave him the finger on this one. :awesome:

Btw Keaton is IN the batsuit. He isnt wearing it.

To be fair, as I understand it, the initial idea for Batman was Bob Kane's, but it wasn't very much like the Batman that debuted in Detective Comics # 27. Then Bill Finger worked with Bob and refined his concept into the Batman of 1939, who ended up becoming the Batman that we know and love today.

So many of the ideas that Kane claimed to be his have since been shown to have been originated by others, so many in fact that even Kane having come up with the "initial idea" for Batman is suspect.

This, by the way, was Kane's "initial idea":

... and that ain't no god damn Batman.

Suffice to say, Batman—as the character first appeared in 1939 and the mythos as we know it today—is arguably more representative of the work of Bill Finger and Jerry Robinson than of Bob Kane... to hell with it—it IS more more representative of the work of Bill Finger and Jerry Robinson.

RAISE THE FINGER!

I am not disagreeing with you. I knew that was Kane's original concept. I just said that the raw idea was conceived of by Bob Kane, then refined by Finger and so forth. The fact is that Batman wouldn't be who he is today without either Kane or Finger.

finger may be getting screwed out of credit, but that doesnt dis-credit kane's role, which was integral to batman existing.

I think thats the perfect length, any more and it would look ridiculous. That cowl overall is the best Batman has ever looked on screen IMO.
