Yeah, he really had bad part in Avengers. He wasn't well know character like others, he didn't have his own movie or a big supporting role in previous MCU movies and then he was Loki's mindless slave for a long time. He doesn't have fancy outfit or superpowers well...

I hope in next movie he'll have better story to shine... and i hope we see him more than a cameo in other MCU movies like Black Widow had Iron Man 2.

Yeah the 10 seconds he had in Thor has hardly enough of an intro for passing fans to have a clue who he was. Tis a shame becuase Hawekey is a great character once you read more of his backstory in the comics.

I guess just as many people liked Spider-Man 3 as Spider-Man 2 cause it made more.

It made more money because of expectations from previous movie and black suit/venom...but it turned out to be disgrace to Spider-Man.

All that cheesiness aside, how they destroyed a character like Venom. It must be worst thing happened to a character since B&R's Bane.I hope ASM one day gives Venom his dignity back.

In one week TDKR made more than total of TDK in Turkey. At least Batman's popularity increased significantly here.

I'm serious. Of course, it's my opinion. Those guys are depend on their star power more than acting skills. Of course they are good actors and have much better acting skills than Keanu Reeves etc. but I think Hardy & Fassbender has miles ahead acting skills.

Star power still most important thing in Hollywood, best actors are considered Dicaprio,Depp,Pitt in these days. But if it's based on skills, for example Norton & Bale in another league.

Well, we'll just agree to disagree then. Moneyball, Benjamin Button, Fight Club, Tree of Life, Burn after Reading, Inglorious basterds, The aviator, the departed,Blood diamond, revolutionary road..and thats just off the top of my head for Dicaprio/Pitt roles. Most of this in the last 6-7years alone . Tremendous individual performances from both those guys that have garnered major acclaimed and have earned them numerous awards.

Hardy and Fass have yet to show they can own roles like that. Shame and Warrior were very good movies and they both put on fine performances but they have a ways to go before you can put them in the same light as Leo and Brad talent wise.

Nice overseas figures!

OK, so TDK has 733 millions internationally in 17 days. How much did TDK had made in 17 days?

It seems like he's not proud of quite a few movies, but he's too classy to outright bad mouth them. He was a struggling actor at one point (which I can't believe), so the Batman series has done his career well. He's only had a few missteps since then, but even the most talented or successful actors have them.

I've always thought he's been an incredibly good sport when it comes to Newsies, the Disney musical he did when he was about 17. Musicals clearly aren't his thing (it wasn't originally a musical when he was cast), and the movie tanked at the box office, but it went on to become this big cult hit on video and has a ton of fans now.

As much as he reacts like  when it comes to that movie (and I love that movie, but I can't really blame him), he also acknowledged that he can't say anything bad about it, because if he does, he knows he has a whole lot of fans of that movie to answer to.

In some of the interviews leading up to TDKR, he was asked a few times about the new Broadway stage version of Newsies, and I thought it was sweet how he congratulated the cast for making such a hit out of what he called "something we apparently made a shambles of". :funny:

I know that money just spurs more greed, but I am not looking forward to the Bourne Ultimatum at all. The Bourne trilogy was great and should be left as is. I'm also in the camp that doesn't like Renner that much. I think Hollywood is trying to sell him as a "star," but he's more suited to supporting roles. I also don't like Fassbender at all, but that's another story.

Everytime I see a promo for the new Bourne movie, I always think, that Renner just does not have "star power", he was totally forgettable in The Avengers (his character really wasn't all that cool), he's below average looking, he kind of reminds me of a poor man's Daniel Craig. Not only does he seem limited in his box office appeal, but now he's basically having to follow behind friggin Matt Damon.

MATT EFFIN DAMON...I almost have a man-crush on Matt Damon (no homo), and they are expecting me to accept Renner as a substitute? That's like expecting a steak and getting a hotdog instead.

Official domestic total is 35.7 million for third weekend (353.9 million in 17 days)

I thought too that he's been very chill about it and complimentary of the new cast. He said he won't see it because he doesn't like musicals but he wishes them the best and he's sure that they've done a much better job that he did. But he still got attacked for it. I remember reading a thread where someone said something like "how dare he not watch the musical! what a jerk!". :hehe:

Poor Bale can't catch a break sometimes :oldrazz:

I really don't want to see Bourne Ultimatum succeed. As much as I like Ed Norton and Rachel Weisz, Hollywood needs to realize the constant that reboots and remakes are getting tiresome. Plus Renner is a major downgrade from Damon. I'm a huge fan of Damon, and I think it's sad that they went this route.

I've seen Newsies on Broadway twice, and at least half of the audience consists of squealing teenage girls, so I can only imagine what would happen if showed up one night. Probably another reason why he's skipped seeing the show, and I can't blame him there.

The cast has been asked if he'd been there too, and they said they'd love it if he came to show, but they totally understand why if he doesn't. A few of them said they've heard he's fairly horrified about his performance in that movie, and all they'd want him to know from them is that he wasn't, most of them were huge fans of the movie growing up.

The guy playing his part joked that he should come to the theater dressed as Batman if he ever decides to see the show. :funny:

If you're gonna bash Renner, see The Town and The Hurt Locker first. He's great in both of those roles.

I loved him in those two movies, but Renner has not impressed me anywhere else. To me, when arriving to the subject of rising stars, I wouldn't rank him near the top. Hardy's and Fassbender's names keep popping up, and I tend to agree that they're more talented than Renner.

Isn't there a place in Turkey called 'Batman' also?

lol. Yes, a city named Batman. :woot: and it's crazy mayor was gonna sue WB & Nolan for using name of Batman. More interestinly he has been sent to jail 10 months for promoting terrorism in Turkey. I think he deserves a spot in Batman villains with his unique mind & scheme.

Seriously? He would have to demonstrate that Batman the city and Batman the fictional character are liable to be confused.

I would love to hear his argument.

So TDKR is actually doing better that TDK worldwide. I guess it will make it to the billion, right?

Someone on here a few pages back said it was locked to get a billion.

"There is only one Batman in the world," "The American producers used the name of our city without informing us."

"The mayor is prepping a series of charges against Nolan and Warner Bros., which owns the right to the Batman character, including placing the blame for a number of unsolved murders and a high female suicide rate on the psychological impact that the film's success has had on the city's inhabitants.

The mayor is working on gathering evidence he claims will show that the city of Batman predates the 1939 debut of Bob Kane's superhero in DC Comics. "

It would be more difficult than the Joker getting a trademark for the laughing fish.

In 17 days, TDKR has made 378 million in the foreign market (a 31% lead over TDK), and will likely be at 430 million next week... Joker, who?
