I disagree. It depends on what type of ending you're going for. You can have a bad/lacklustre ending that doesn't completely annihilate what came before. ME3 is the exception, not the rule. I'd be dissatisfied for example if the ending was something ambiguous and undefinitive like Batman standing on a rooftop overlooking Gotham, but it wouldn't destroy my enjoyment of the trilogy.

I don't have any preferences in general when it comes to endings - good, bad, sad, happy, as long as they provide a proper closure. I've been dissatisfied with endings before, and sometimes I justified my dissatisfaction by saying "It's more about the journey", but now I really believe a good ending is very essential to my overall experience.

And I never said ME3's ending destroyed my enjoyment of the trilogy, but it did damage my enjoyment of the final game. No matter how awesome the whole game really was, that ending overshadowed my whole experience and I couldn't get over it for days. It was hard to think of all the other brilliant moments, because it left such a bad taste in my mouth.

That's another thing i love about Nolan Batfilms (and Inception) all the different shooting locations across the world make everybody feel a part of it and the movies seem so diverse yet all the locations come together to make an amazing Gotham City, i hope the reboot takes note of that, it'll be so sad to see it all end. :csad:

Well ME3 destroyed mine, simply because 90% of ME3 was as excellent as ME1 & 2. I consider that all part of the same journey, and the end made them all just as irrelevant. Eh.

And I think a good ending is important, especially in the case of this film, considering how much they've talked about and hyped it up. ME3 did the same. But like I said, I'd have taken any other ending, even a bad one, over what we got for that, because there's been plenty of endings that haven't defiled my memory of what came before and in my case that one did.

I think it's pretty much impossible that TDKR could have an ending that fit that kind of category, I'm just worried about one that dissatifies me right now as I'm expecting greatness.

A ME3 type ending for TDKR would be Bruce hanging up the cowl, and saying...I'm at peace the monster inside me is gone, and he goes off into the sunset with Selina all happy and lovey, while John Blake dons the cowl and watches over gotham. I'd even sue warner bros if i could. :funny:

Sorry, I got it last night when I was about to go to bed and forgot to reply to it today. Hold on.

No worries man, was just curious as to whether you got it or not as the hype has been acting up on my iPod recently.

So basically Rocketman's ending... uh oh :hehe:

^Yet to see a single banner/poster outside of a cinema here in the UK

Someone please tell me that that Rocketman/Raganork ending isn't the actual ending to the film :csad:

I still need to be woken up from that nightmare :funny:

Where is the marketing for this film? It's like it doesn't even exist. :o

Obviously, it's all about execution and context with things like that, you can compare my reaction to that of Kris Tapley, someone who has strong convictions on how the films and characters should adhere to. If someone can make that horrible ending work, it's Chris Nolan, but I won't be sold on it a minute before i see it.

The only sources i have on the film is my own gut instinct and common sense, and those tell me that Rocketman is wrong this time.

Then again I thought it was an absolute travesty that Batman should give up being batman after TDK, but the more it's been discussed and the more we see, hear of this film, I'm warmed up to the idea considerably.

 I feel exactly the same way.

From Batman´s spanish dubber, Claudio Serrano.

I think
there could be something to the 'Gotham unites to rebuild and take a stand' concept. A chunk of Gotham could go up while Bane is in charge. I could be wrong, but I don't think we're going to see Gotham as this completely razed landscape with a few buildings standing here and there.

Some new stills would be nice...

thedarkknightrises website being updated with the plot summary, removing that ****** background and adding some new stills would be nice sometime this year.
