I'm not sure if this was mentioned in one of the many previous speculation and discussion threads but if you look at this picture:

Do you guys think that the man on Tatalia's right is the same man from the prologue who handed Bane over to CIA? If so, it would seem Bane and Tatalia are definitely working together.

Josh Stewart, yes.

So do you. For all you know, it may not work at all.

And what do you mean, 'bias'? Thinking Batman should be, you know, like a bat isn't a 'bias'.

Batman isn't an actual Bat...I hate to break that to you...

It may not work, I'm not saying it will or it won't but I'm looking at the situation and not my personal preference (which actually happens to be I like Batman at night) given the situation and the nature of this being the final film and that being a scene where Batman comes back...blah blah, blah. There's a lot of weight to it and seeing it on film so far I don't see any critical flaw of it.

You've yet to say anything that's an actual flaw but just something adverse to your personal preference. You say it's counter to his character but you've deduced his character to a constricted wraith of the night who would allow Bane to destroy Gotham totally if he decided to do it in the daytime.

I'm willing to extend my ideas of Batman at this point and time, I like feeling like I'm learning something new and experiencing new things. Instead of just getting what's been expected for 70+ years.

if something is wrong with that scene, I doubt it's going to be the sun.

Having Batman fight during the daytime completely defeats the whole idea of him in the films, IMO. He's supposed to be scary and intimidating. Putting him in full lighting takes away the entire dark element.

For example, the warehouse scene in Begins wouldn't be effective if we saw Batman in every shot of him silently taking out the crooks, would it?

No and some more no.

The situation calls for him to come out in the daytime in this film thus he's out in the day. There's nothing more to this conversation other than that.

He's still Batman and he can still humiliate you in a fight whether its 2:30 p.m in the afternoon or 11:30 p.m at night.

/end.

That report again... I'm split on it's legitimacy, to be honest. I'm pretty sure that fight is at the beginning of the film and before Bruce is imprisoned though, that's for sure.

i dunno. the scenario mentioned sounds plausible.. and it would make sense that Bane/his men would have access to the areas below the stadium since the stadium collapses down (i have no idea what the bomb does).

IMO, the scene with the water flowing and all in that underground place, doesn't really look like beneath a stadium. it seems like the LA sewers where they film that scene where Gordon is walking on the ice.

Why do you bother, Rags?

The whole point of him basing himself on a bat is because it's scary, in the shadows, and unknown.

Not to mention, visually it looks off. The Nolansuit has always looked terrible in bright lighting.

It just looks like an overdesigned motorcycle outfit.

Yes, but at the same time, Batman isn't real, either. So it comes down to another aesthetic approach to the character/settings that Nolan purposefully put him in. He could have easily wrote the character into a night scene, but he choose not to. The settings and atmosphere seem off for the character, and was something I hoped to be remedied from TDK, whereas now, it seems to have gone further away from the type of atmosphere Batman should be in. At least in TDK, Bruce did all the work during the day. Oh well...

In The Long Halloween, Batman acknowledges the problem with operating in the daylight. During the scene when he is searching for the Riddler in one of the bars, he admits that his presence is more intimidating at night (if I recall, the line was, "They might be superstitious. They might be cowards. But, my presence has more effect at night.") But, the decision to have him fight Bane during the day is not without comic precdent, as is with all of the other artistic decisions.

Poor Batman....take away the nighttime...and he's just a guy in a silly suit.....not that scary anymore, even though people know he's the same Batman at night...

How do Spidey and Supes do it? :D

The fight is on a cloudy snowy day, your speaking like his standing there in the sun wearing speedo's

Am i missing something here, but if Batman removes Bane's mask, in this incarnation of bane, he'll be in agony, making him much easier to beat, surely thats all he needs to do?

The trailer shot actually does show a bit more directional sunlight than the spy photos indicated...but I still think it looks good.

Quite the opposite, he'll go into "Red Mist" mode. He'll be rabid.

But the lighting makes the random-ass lines on the Batsuit insanely noticable, which IMO look insanely ugly. Add that to the fact that it goes against the whole 'dark and shadows' explanation which was half of the foundation of the first movie, and it adds up to 'I don't like it'.

I don't recall seeing anything like that. Hardy said he's breathing anesthesia to be able to survive the pain, so cutting him off from that would pretty much kill him.

"If I take off that mask, will you die?"

"It will be extremely painful. For you".

And people ask why Nolan writes such expository dialogues.
