I prefer Batman in the dark as well but I'm fine with him being out in the day for this film.

Yurka probably wants this...and only this....all the time....

:D ;)
Hehe, and what's wrong with this manip/artwork? It looks great.

Having Batman fight during the daytime completely defeats the whole idea of him in the films, IMO. He's supposed to be scary and intimidating. Putting him in full lighting takes away the entire dark element.

For example, the warehouse scene in Begins wouldn't be effective if we saw Batman in every shot of him silently taking out the crooks, would it?

This is very simple thinking.

But having him in light does take away the dark element...obviously.

I kinda' like the whole 'the gloves are off...day, night, whatever...this is for all the marbles..' kind of feel to it.

You can do that in any setting, night, day, inside, outside, without compromising a large element of the character.

That's my point, though...I don't see it as a compromise. It's liking stripping him down to something even more primordial and elemental, if you look at it as taking away nighttime from him as an implement/tool that he puts to good use. Almost like taking away the costume, in a way...not as a compromise but as a extra level of challenge. I think there's some good symbolic weight to having him fight (albeit not for the whole story) in daylight. Like it'll only happen here. It's a nice brief contrast, if you will.

Heck, he has to, no? Otherwise many criminals would get away with much more by just doing their thing during the day...since Batman won't come out until the sun goes down. It's gotta happen sometime, right? And then we get into the whole rebirth/dawn/rises stuff as a dichotomy to the 'legend ends' whatchamacallit, and so on.... I'd say go with it for a little bit at least. ;)

It's a very simple problem.

Not a problem at all. You don't like it but you have yet to actually to see it.

While it may not be you're personal preference you may find that you've enjoyed how it was put together despite your bias.

There's a reason he's out in the daytime. Not only does it stress an urgency to having to defeat Bane but gives Batman the chance to fight amongst his people.

Could they have shot it at night? of course but, this is a dramatic step to doing something new and hardly done before. I'm happy someone is taking chances with this character and giving him meaty consequences in these films instead of catering to uninspired wants.

Batman will be around at night time in this film as well you know. So...there you go!

Some people don't like to see Batman lose a fight...like it's not part of the character to lose...but at a certain point, it's gotta happen to challenge how he comes out of it, right? :O

I'm not sure if this was mentioned in one of the many previous speculation and discussion threads but if you look at this picture:

Do you guys think that the man on Tatalia's right is the same man from the prologue who handed Bane over to CIA? If so, it would seem Bane and Tatalia are definitely working together.

Of course having him in the dark adds an element of fear in others, but it's not the sole reason he's terrifying. Just the fact that he could take out a whole group of people at once and have all those gadgets is the "meat on the bones". Would you rather face someone in the dark who can kick butt or someone in the dark who can't?

Besides, the whole city is going to hell. What's he supposed to do, watch TV until it gets dark to do anything?

So do you. For all you know, it may not work at all.

And what do you mean, 'bias'? Thinking Batman should be, you know, like a bat isn't a 'bias'.

So do you think that the huge Bane fight(where he breaks the mask) happens before or after The Lobster/Tumbler chase scene?

I think early in the film...then Batman heals and returns, and then the big fight and chase. Something like that.

Either that, or it's the guy who handed off that doctor.

:D

Nice find! It definitely does look like him. I'm sure it's more likely the same guy than not.
