Is there any online betting sites that will wager on this reaching an above or below percentage? Akin to what the person said about basketball, I feel like im at a sporting event with this fiasco. Not serious.

The bad reviews just keep coming in...I'm like seriously depressed right now. I waited so long for this movie and the fact it's not living up to expectations..I hate life right now.

You haven't even seen it yet. It didn't meet a few critics' expectations, but what about yours?

It's best not to focus so much on this. it's not healthy.

Hearing that the story is a mess has me somewhat worried.

Don't worry. It's one guy versus a crapload of people who've been praising it.
only a couple of people have said that right?

All I'm taking from these reviews until its all said and done, all reviews in, and I've seen it myself...is this...

A lot to a little. When in doubt, trust the majority.

8 bad reviews out of nearly 50 released in roughly 36 hours says a lot more good than bad. Normally, all the people who didn't like it, get to work on the review as quick as possible and the 'negativity' is much easier to point out and reflect on than all the positives. I hope I am making sense, lol, but I feel like the negative reviews are going to really slow down.

A critic who doesn't like the most anticipated movie in years, will get his review out there ASAP. Negative reviews are not 'expected' per sé.

Just my train of thought. I like there are 'so many so soon' because it will teeter off as we go along.

Decide for yourself whether or not the film lives up to expectations.

You do see all of the positives that are coming in as well...

...right?

THE FILM HAS LIVED UP TO EXPECTATIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Since when is 8 poor reviews out of 53 bad? 8 poor out of 25 maybe but good god people.

I think he's referring to a contest he ran giving away two tickets to a screener.

At least, I hope that's what that means.

And I'm pretty sure Forever MS is... maybe not trolling, but just looking for attention.

And the Bane not being Joker BS is what is really getting me. I guess I was naive to think we wouldn't get those comparisons, but Nolan was damned either way - If he gave us another zany villain like Riddler, critics would say it was a rehash by trying to top the Joker. Then if Heath was still with us and was the main villain again I'm sure critics would still say "it's the same thing from TDK, give us something new Chris!".

This. Critics will never be fully satisfied; there's always something wrong with a film. The Joker vs. Bane snuff is getting very annoying. But put it this way, the Joker character in general will always be a difficult villain to top in any Batman genre. He's just one hell of a memorable character! Look at BTAS for instance...is there any other villain in that series that topples Joker? Not really...

At this point I really don't care what the critics think. My perception is the only one that will matter to me. :)

Are people seriously depressed about an 85%?

Guys, relax. Take a break from the boards if you have to. An RT rating shouldn't be affecting your health or expectations.

Easy man. It's not the end of the world.

Batman Begins has an 85% on there and that's probably my favorite Batman movie. Just go watch the movie and then decide for yourself.

You know, I've been a long time lurker of the boards - I haven't really posted much over the past few years, but reading this post above, coupled with all the other whining about the negative reviews, has pushed me to the point where I feel compelled to express my opinion.

Out of nearly 50 reviews, we only have 8 negative ones, and people are complaining? I mean, seriously? Do you know how many filmmakers would kill to have the RT rating that TDKR has right now?

Most of the reactions have been overwhelmingly positive, much more positive than I had expected. This film was set against unreasonably high expectations and the fact that it is doing as well as it is is nothing short of a triumph. Instead of moaning and crying, you all should be celebrating. Name me one other superhero threequel that has done this well, and then we can talk.

If you "hate life" just because of a few negative reviews for a movie (of all things!), you either need psychological help or you seriously to get your priorities in order. This is ridiculous.

It is not that serious.

Did Gill ever predict where TDKR would level out at critically?

You know what's depressing? The fact that UPS can't deliver my soundtrack at this hour. And I have Amazon Prime! :)

People are worried about other people's negative opinion on the film before they have seen it?

Seriously. The amount of stock people put in reviews is ridiculous sometimes.

When all is said and done, this film will probably clock in with about 250 reviews. Two hundred and fifty opinions out of the millions of people who are going to see this movie. To say the critics represent a vocal minority is an understatement - regardless of whether or not the film receives universal praise.

So please, can people just calm down a bit? It's hardly the end of the world just because we're looking at probably 20-30 negative reviews in the end.

Hilarious, an average of 8.7/10 so far makes a bad film these days I guess.....TDK finished at 8.4 by the way.

This will come close to the 94 that TDK received, and if it does, what an accomplishment for Nolan to get even CLOSE to the praise TDK did....especially with Ledger.

Amazon Prime? I didn't know such a thing existed.

At least your copy was actually sent out. I'm still waiting for that confirmation email, letting me know it's on route.

I must disagree... EVERYONE allow yourselves to freak out over these reviews. We only have 200 more to see, so its time to jump ship now!
