Everyone's saying how "Oh you should see the movie yourself before making a decision and not listen to critics" but if the movie was being universally praised nobody would say that.

I JUST CAN"T BELIEVE I waited this long for a movie that won't be loved!!

:lmao:

So the big gripes coming from negative reviews are:

1) Bane isn't the Joker

2) Story isn't clear and concise, rather muddled and sloppy

?

I think it's ridiculous that all of the reviews haven't even come in yet, and Rotten Tomatoes has already summarized the film with:

"The Dark Knight Rises is an ambitious, thoughtful, and potent action film that concludes Christopher Nolan's franchise in spectacular fashion, even if it doesn't quite meet the high standard set by its predecessor."

I've seen RT on occasion change their original summary after more reviews come in, but rarely. I think they're jumping the gun a little too. I guess this is the summary they'll stick with.

I don't know about getting back to 94 or even the 90's but it should stay above 85 and probably finish with a strong 87 or 88 imo.

Negative reviews usually show up first for some reason, still saying around 90%.....doesn't matter anyway in the long run, seems like Nolan did it again and hit another homerun.

I liked Batman Begins, but I certainly didn't love it, and don't care to ever see it again. TDK, on the other hand, I really admire. To see so many people who've seen it essentially acknowledge TDKR to be "very good" but not on the heights of TDK is disappointing. I didn't expect Nolan to bother making a third film without a story even more engaging than TDK's. When your greatest asset (Ledger) is dead, you have to make sure the sequel's narrative is tighter than No Country For Old Men's anus.

The bad reviews just keep coming in...I'm like seriously depressed right now. I waited so long for this movie and the fact it's not living up to expectations..I hate life right now.

You're making me hate my life too.

Unless enough reviews coming in saying that it's on par or better than TDK. The 8.7/10 rating (I can't stress this enough) is a strong indicator of not only a brilliant movie but also a strong chance of the RT meter improving.

Name me one movie where 100% of critics praise it.

Hell, I'm surprised you like any movie if a couple of critics give off negative vibes.

Kinda sucks that this movie's getting so trashed. Anyone want to buy my midnight IMAX tickets? I'll give you a good deal.

I just found 27 cents and an old Cheez-It in my couch cushion. Fair trade?

Maybe these reviews that are saying the story is muddled and sloppy because it isnt told like a straight foward story but a mind trip in typical Nolan fashion and they just arent used to that

The Daily Mail gave it 2/5? That's all the information I need to know I'll enjoy it.

only a couple of people have said that right?

All I'm taking from these reviews until its all said and done, all reviews in, and I've seen it myself...is this...

A lot to a little. When in doubt, trust the majority.

8 bad reviews out of nearly 50 released in roughly 36 hours says a lot more good than bad. Normally, all the people who didn't like it, get to work on the review as quick as possible and the 'negativity' is much easier to point out and reflect on than all the positives. I hope I am making sense, lol, but I feel like the negative reviews are going to really slow down.

A critic who doesn't like the most anticipated movie in years, will get his review out there ASAP. Negative reviews are not 'expected' per sé.

Just my train of thought. I like there are 'so many so soon' because it will teeter off as we go along.

Exactly. :yay:

Who's been saying this?

The only way I see this being true is if people totally forget about Batman Begins and the League of Shadows. Heck, some critics even thought Joker was in BB :funny:

Are there any negative reviews that haven't been posted in Rotten Tomatoes yet? How many positive ones aren't posted?

Honestly, with all these negative reviewers commenting on how the film falls short of TDK due to the absence of The Joker, it makes me wonder what they would have thought of that film without Ledger's performance.

Or maybe the reviewer is bright and articulate and thoughtful and genuinely found the story to be muddled and sloppy.

Weird, I know.

lol you people are joking right? How's this getting "trashed"? Green Lantern got trashed.

They're only reviews. If they're seriously effecting your excitement level for the movie, you guys should get your heads checked.

Dude, if you would read other peoples posts, you'd know. There are going to be OVER 200 total reviews. Easily.

Well, it is clear the only part of the film they saw were Joker scenes.
