It was definitely alluding to it being Bruce, as it was his way of showing that he was still alive. It showed the bat-signal being fixed, the auto-pilot being fixed, and then the Alfred scene.
Definitely.

And to quote Albert Einstein, "imagination is more important than knowledge".

Would I be in the wrong to say this movie didn't do the batman character any justice?
I think the first two movies were brilliant but this one missed on alot of levels .

How so, Kira? I'm interested in the other side's opinion.

You know, I had a thought that gave me chills:

Most common criminals think Batman is a myth or not even human because of the extraordinary art of theatricality and deception he uses. They question how it is possible for any ordinary human being to pull off such amazing heroic acts.

And now here a lot of us are, questioning how Batman is able to save Gotham City and himself.

I think it's best that we not know. That's the beauty of Batman. We've always seen how Batman has found a way out. Nolan might've thought it would be interesting to watch it through the eyes of normal citizens. I'm sure Alfred, Gordon, and Blake have a lot of the same questions.

How did Batman do it? For once, let's just not underestimate the Batman

Not going to say whether your right or wrong.

In this film, Batman gets his back broken, thrown in a pit, takes months to recover from his injuries, has to rediscover Fear itself, crawl out of the pit risking his neck to do so, returns to the city to face against the man who broke him, defeats him and saves an entire city from complete destruction from an atomic bomb.

He wasn't made out to be too un-heroic.

Bruce was just another victim of Bane's siege on the city.

In percentage terms, we seem to have a diminishing amount of time that they've cared to put him in the movie. I've been watching some Bond movies lately, and it's such a stark contrast that the actor playing Bond is the focus while after Batman Begins it's more and more about stuff that is not Bruce/Batman. I hope the next film gets this right.

I had mixed feelings after I figured out they were going to do an 8 year absence of Batman like The Dark Knight Returns, but I thought I'd give it a chance, and I wasn't that happy with it in the film. A Batman that's past his prime is not a very fun Batman to me. I did like the way the TDK suit looked more this time around for whatever reason.

But starting the movie with no Bruce as Batman (and unhappy) and ending it with [blackout]no Bruce as Batman (but happy) was somewhat redundant[/blackout]. Jonathan Nolan said to Sci Fi magazine (August 2012) that they looked at how previous Batman stories dealt with the end of Batman and found them lacking, but I bet the studio was thrilled. Well, I find their ending lacking. I'm tired and cranky. :oldrazz:

I think Bruce/Batman has a better, more satisfying character arc in this film than he has had in the previous films, in this or the previous series. Hell, more so than in most comic book stories.

Mr. Wooden Alligator, is it my computer or is there something weird with your Frodo avy? :funny:

One of the special features for the blu-ray release has leaked. It gives some closure to Bane's story.

Hmm, above doesn't seem to work. Here's the direct link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JhREGptlp50

Okay I'm not huge on parody/fan made spoofy videos but that was great!!

I was glad quite a few things were held back. Didn't expect the Batman/Catwoman kiss at the end for example.

The audience applauded that at the show I saw.

You would never EVER get a cheer mid way through a film.
