I do remember a large gasp when Talia was revealed, thats like a standing ovation in the UK:woot:

The most I remember was during Inception. There is a moment when it cuts between all the dream layers and then it it cuts to the van just about to hit the water and I remember an audible gasp from a lot of people.

Surprised they didn't get kicked out...

I love how Batman learns from the first fight with Bane. When they first meet Batman is a little rusty, but more importantly over aggressive. He throws punch after punch at Bane, tiring himself out with no real strategy.

Then, in the second fight, Batman is smarter and more patient. He goes for Bane's weakness (the mask), then dodges his blows and strikes at more opportune moments.

Had the second fight just been a fight to the death, Bane would have won. Batman needed to get an upper hand as quickly as possible. There is more than one way to win a fist fight, and I loved how this developed.

a shame the fight only lasted 30 seconds. Fastest war in history

This is beyond true. The war literally lasts about 34 minutes after that it looks too easy for the Police and Batman to be considered a war.

:whatever:

Lasted much longer than that. And not every frame of the fight was shown. Other happenings in the climax were interspersed. Passage of time is accelerated.

And there was nothing else to show for that fight (or the war conflict). Everything that needed to be conveyed was done so.

The mass melees in Gangs of New York blow this movie away, unfortunately. I get that it's PG-13, but it should have been better.

It's possible that many of the remaining mercs surrendered after the bomb went off. At that point, they've essentially lost, their mission failed and now there's nothing to stop the government from coming in and cleaning house.

There is literally a shot of the cops holding guns in front of kneeling mercs when the bomb goes off.

And don't forget the elephant. :D

I detected your sarcasm. That doesn't change your underlying complaint that the fight was too short.

I detected your sarcasm. That doesn't veil the complaint behind it.

Then you should have known I didn't literally mean 30 seconds.

The fight between bane and batman should have been more...along with the rest of the war. all the build up to it, and thats what they delivered?. If you were ok with it, thats great. But don't roll your eyes at me because I feel differently.

True I guess you're right. I was remembering like it was already in montage-mode when we saw that shot but probably not. Oh well.

...

I did know you didn't literally mean 30 seconds. My post was in response to your complaint. You should be able to figure that out.

Dude, you need to relax. If you complain, and someone provides reasoning why your complaint is not very grounded, don't try to turn it around into some semantics argument.

Saying the build up was "crap" is hardly an argument. I wasn't "ok" with it. It made sense and fit the story. And if someone uses specious reasoning, then it's quite fair to roll one's eyes.

You didn't see that scene where all the gunless cops blocked all the bullets with their magic blue suits and over took the armed gunmen? stealing their guns and holding them down?

:hehe:

Ok, so saying the build up didn't pay off in the finale is not a grounded complaint. Fair enough, George.

5 months of starving underground in the same clothes will do that for you.

The scene where Bane's men drop washing machines and catering services to the cops was cut.

Now you're talking about the entire finale when the initial discussion was about the Bane/Batman fight itself.

We get it. You hated many parts of the movie and thought it was crap. But while you dislike people explaining why something wasn't as bad as you make it out to be, maybe others grow tired of seeing the same, repetitive complaints?

And just because someone enjoyed the movie doesn't mean they're settling or were simply "ok" with it. Maybe they have many valid reasons to enjoy the film and don't see the negatives you do.

You seem to be bothered that someone dares to disagree with your complaints. The attitude of this forum has shifted since release, and it's less likely people post things they liked vs. disliked. Before the movie came out a negative review was grounds for revolt. Now it's sacrosanct.

I fail to see where anything I've said is out of line.
