I'm guessing that after the events in TDK, Ramirez got the hell out of Gotham and transferred somewhere else.
As for the Gordons, I didn't mind not seeing them. It made sense for me that after the incident with Harvey, Barbara no longer felt safe around James or with the kids. Plus, James faked his own death without telling her.
That is true.
You know, a part of me has always wondered on, IF Gotham was so bad, I mean as bad as the films and comics have made it out to be at times, why doesnt its citizens (the ones that want a normal and peaceful life) just move away from the city altogether? I mean, if a place is so bad, unless youre super broke, why not just move away from the place instead of just staying there and living on the edge every day?
And it sucks on what became of Gordons family life in the series. Too bad he was the only one who didnt get a happy ending regarding his personal life in the series.
Gordon got so little redemption in TDKR such a sad sad thing for a great character. The citizens probably think poorly of him and he is now on his own. Him seeing the rebuilt Batsignal is the best thing that happened to him all film.
I wonder if they ever found out that he was the one who stopped the bomb from being detonated via trigger?
and I doubt they trust what he'd say after the Dent fiasco. Blake and Fox wouldn't know - Foley, Bane, Talia is dead - Bruce and Selina have gone off
Gordon just couldn't get a break in TDKRI imagine that after the events of TDKR, with Batman getting a memorial, the real truth about why Gordon covered up Harvey's murders was accepted and understood by the public. Maybe not completely forgiven, but understood. After all, the fact that he's still commissioner tells us that he must have had some redemption in the public eye.
Not sure if it's just me, but does anyone else here feel that Gordon's Family and Detective Ramirez SHOULD have been present in this film in some way, if not, even a cameo?
If anything, Gordon did get a son-like figure in Blake since those two seemed to have bonded really well in the film.
Gordon's wife at least should have been. The most obvious place she could have fit in the film was at Gordon's bedside in the hospital. That element was just horribly handled.
That could have worked nicely. But then she would have to use the restroom or something during the time Bruce visits him. Could have been real nice too, Gordon's wife comes back in the room right after Bruce exits and the curtains in the room could be billowing from the wind. Gordon would then pretend to be asleep.

Anybody that said Avengers has "nothing of substance" just wasn't paying attention. There was plenty to it, it just didn't try to hit you over the head with its themes.

On BBC3 on Sunday in the UK they have a documentary on the Colorado shootings titled "The Batman Shootings". Is there nothing else to call it?
I'm sure there is but cheap sensationalism that uses shock value is far more lucrative.
If not that , maybe a scene with Gordon calling his wife attempting to reach out, Just a hint that Gordon could get his family back in the future .Gordon's wife at least should have been. Now that I think about it..
..Did Catwoman serve any purpose in this movie?
