He may not be Batman. Blake may just be a detective who works around the law to fight justice and do things a cop couldn't do. The only Batman connection could be Blake using a few gadgets and using the Batcave as his hideout.

You clearly missed the point of the ending. It insinuates BLAKE IS THE NEW BATMAN. 'Wear a mask', 'Anyone can be batman' etc etc.

That doesn't matter to me. What matters is that Bruce left Ra's body and burned his house. He saved Ducard, not Ra's.

'You killed who you thought was Ra's al Ghul... but I am really Ra's al Ghul... so you thought you killed me... when you actually saved my life and let my decoy die. So now I want revenge because you thought you killed who I pretended not to be.'

That is weak dude.

No the ending pointed towards Blake doing something not straight out being Batman. Batman was a symbol to inspire people to do something not "Hey guys you be Batman too!". He inspired Blake. I'm not the only person who feels like this.

I'm not arguing or defending it, I'm just saying how I interpreted it. If Bruce knew he Ducard was actually Ra's, then who knows what would have happened. By targeting Watanabe Ra's, Bruce was unknowingly attacking the real one.

The batsignal was fixed at the end. There's the other connection to Blake.

Maybe I'm dumb and Blake isn't supposed to be perceived as the new Batman. Sure as hell looked like it from what I saw.

The whole thing is just weird. In Gotham's eyes, Batman died sacrificing his life. But then the Batsignal was fixed (and there's that whole symbolism thing with Blake being engulfed by the bats) so I guess IF Blake appears as Batman, Gotham knows that it's a different Batman. Eh, I dunno. I don't really care. :funny:

Adds in the mysticism of the idea that Batman will always live.

You know its a Nolan ending when there's more than one way to interpret it:woot:

-The signal was fixed.
-Batman told him to wear a mask.
-Batman said anybody can be Batman.
-Blake said he quit his job as a cop.
-He now has the Batcave, and Bats flew over his head.
-The platform started to rise, with the title saying "The Dark Knight Rises".

You're not Batman. I watched him die.

But, is Batman immortal? Are his methods...supernatural?

- Threw his gun away after realizing what happened.

"The Legend Ends... by Continuing."

Yeah, I thought that was fairly obvious. That's the whole point of having Blake rising before the title card.

:pal:

Batman needs the ability to fight. Unless Blakes batman uses guns. he clearly isnt going to do it as a cop considering he quit.
It's not like he couldn't get the appropriate training. It may imply that he could become Batman, but it also implies that he isn't needed to be Batman.

Okay he may well be Batman (though personally I don't think he will) still doesn't mean he is gonna do the same things Bruce done he may have entirely different methods and ways of approaching things.

Who knows this Batman may actually figure stuff out :hehe:

I like the idea that Blake would reflect the detective side of Batman.

Not that I didn't like Batman's detective methods of grabbing people and yelling "WHERE ARE THEY! WHERE'S THE TRIGGER! WHERE ARE THE REST OF THE DRUGS GOING!" but it's established in the film that Blake is a pretty keen detective as it is, and now he's got a Batcomputer.

For all we know, Blake sold all the Batstuff and used that money on other things. It would be funny if Bruce and Selina bumped into Blake in Italy. :p
