TDKR will get nominations in the technical categories and I think that Michael Caine or Levitt has a chance of getting nomination in the best supporting actor category.

I would say Hardy has the best chance of an acting one but dont think he will get it anyway.

I don't see any of the TDKR actors getting award for their performance in TDKR but they may get some nominations.

No one's getting an acting nod. Not for TDKR. Plus, actor's (both lead and supporting) and supporting actress races are packed as hell this year as it is. The only weak category this year is Lead Actress.

TDKR will receive quite a few noms in the tech categories.

I think Tom could be nominated for Bane, but if anything, if he were to be nominated it might just be his performance in Lawless; Gary too for that matter, if the movie turns out.

I know TDKR will get some nominations...... but my biggest concern is that I don't want to see Wally, Anne, and Hans leave empty handed. :jedi :hrt:

To be honest, I think A LOT of the Oscars this year will be given to The Master and Lincoln; they're just the kind of films they plan to release at a certain time last minute to be in the running. I also think Django Unchained will pull in a couple as well, if Waltz and DeCaprio outdo themselves.

Would have been awesome if Hans got something but he got nout for BB and TDK at the Oscars not even a nomination. Wally got an Oscar for Inception and to a lot of people this looked even better so I think he may have it.

Also wasn't early word from Cannes that Lawless is nothing special?

Of course.

I loved The Hurt Locker. So glad it won Best Picture and not Avatar. Plus, it was kinda awesome seeing Cameron's ex win the award for that and Directing, haha. And if not Hurt Locker, I would've place Inglourious Basterds to be the very next film to get Best Film.

I would have much preferred inglourious basterds or even district 9 as a long shot over either of those two.

Even though its only been about 3 years now since it was released i don't feel like the hurt locker has gone down as a very memorable or notable film as opposed to some of the others mentioned.

Meh. Who cares about oscars , or any type of awards. ... Rises has my approval . And that is the only thing that matters :woot:

People talk too much about an irrelevant ceremony.

Going by the Cannes mixed reaction and Weinstein releasing it this early, I don't think Lawless will be an awards player for any category at all. If it does get traction (it won't though), it'll be for Guy Pearce. Word is he stole the show.

Yup. Add Les Miserables too. That one's going for some too. Hugh, Anne, Russell, and maybe Samantha Barks for acting nods ( maybe even wins) along with the other major categories.

Unfortunately the Oscar rarely goes to the best movie of the year, and Hollywood politics play too big a role, so it's unlikely that anyone will win for TDKR. Most of the actors have other films this year and if they were to win the Academy would probably go for one of those movies.

I can honestly say, big or small, I haven't seen a better movie than TDKR this year, but it won't matter. From a film standpoint it was the most impressive, too. It was engaging, had excellent acting, excellent visuals, and the director actually tried to challenge himself by pushing his limits. That's how we judge things in every other aspect of life, but not Oscars apparently.

TDKR is also currently the best film I've seen this year and always thought it was gonna be. Looper is probably the only film that will come remotely close.

Would love to see that (:oldrazz:), but doubt it will happen.

I've got a feeling Anne is going to be 'a' or 'the' hot favourite for the Supporting actress award. Though foir Les Mis, rather than TDKR.

What do you reckon will be announced first the Batman reboot or Nolan's next project? Also which one are you looking forward to more?

I think we'll know who will play the rebooted Batman before Nolan's next, but we'll know Nolan's next before we know who directs it. Because of Justice League.

My guess:

2013 announcement of director, actor
2014 shoot
2015 release

I'd predict to push each of those dates up by one year Kvz5, that 2016 rumor from a little while ago seemed pretty sensible

You both really think it'll be that soon?

That just seems to soon to me, even more so than Spider-Man 'too soon'...

Well, they want Justice League in 2015. They're not going to make a Justice League movie without Batman in it.

WB will be wasting no time in pushing out another Batman. A WB representative said they already have plans for a reboot soon (or something to that effect).
