I believe he might have trimmed a little bit here and there , but 30 minutes is a huge section of the movie.

Just look back at the interrogation scene. Obviously what Ledger does there is extraordinary, but it all works as much because of Bale. He plays off of Joker's erratic movement and dialogue by scarcely speaking or even moving for the first half of the scene. I've always believed Bruce/Batman was at the center of TDK, even if much of the plot revolved around other characters. It was an extroverted exploration of the character rather than an introverted one in Begins.

Fully agreed. The batvoice is awesome during the interrogation scene as well.

Christian Bale on Heath Ledger:

Heath Ledger, he was one of my few friends in the industry. Many times I’ll work with actors and I can tell they’re thinking, ‘What are you doing? Why are you going that far with it?’ or ‘You’re nuts!’ With Heath, I could feel him going, ‘I love it!’ It felt like we were really pushing each other on. He was a good guy. There are not a lot of actors who I stay in touch with. But Heath was one of them.

Heath Ledger on Christian Bale:

“It’s quite easy as an actor because it’s kind of funny seeing somebody dressed up in a Batsuit it’s easy to laugh at it, but he’s incredibly professional and incredibly focused and one of the loveliest guys I’ve ever worked with and a brilliant actor. Even down to how serious Christian takes it and how he transforms and his voice shifts, and how aggressive he gets. It’s really, really inspiring stuff.”

Awww  :csad:

Oh...now we won't get to see 30 more minutes of Foley...

Poo.

He definitely could have, especially if IMAX was a restriction. Plus, we do know for a fact that there were scenes shot that didn't make it in the film.

Ehh, I think we're talking more about "shots" that didn't make the finished film, rather than full sequences.

We know there might have been a Miranda Tate/Fox conversation that was cut (or never shot). We know there might have been shots of Bane training with the League, Ra's watching Bane train with the League, etc...but that doesn't point to a full sequence or portion of Bane's backstory that was removed or left on the cutting room floor. I doubt that any dialogue was even cut from that.

And aside from an extra minute or two of Foley material, I'm not sure what else everyone expects to be included in this fabled "extended cut". What would amount to this extra 30 minutes?

There are plenty of things that were cut from TDK, as well. Batman running on top of cars, Joker in the bus driving away from the hospital, Joker hopping in a car after he crashed the party, and I'm sure there are other examples. But again, those things would amount to maybe a minute and a half to two minutes of film. Nothing substantial was missing, nothing that makes the film incomprehensible or incomplete.

It seems like the same thing can be said for TDKR, but people are really reaching here.

In that scene before Bruce tells Selina Batman wants her to help him find Bane, when Selina tells Jen/Holly (Juno Temple) "He's not a mark. He doesn't have a cent to his name anyway," what are Bruce and Jen/Holly arguing about?

She was trying to rob him like the others.

So when are we expecting a blu ray/dvd announcement? I heard by the end of the month.

Pretty sure she was saying something about 'cash up front', so I assume Selina is a prostitute.

What I want to know is, what the hell is a 'DWP guy'

@Uroboric Forms and theShape

Thanks.

DWP is Department of Water and Power, I think.

So no extended cut then, dissapointing but not really surprising, ah well glad with what we got.

God I love the fast-paced music during the truck chase in the end.

Just listen to this starting at about 1:35 and try not to get pumped up.

If famous directors made a movie together

Spielberg: there would be an alien
Bay: EXPLOSIONS
Lucas: the alien has to shoot first tho
Tarantino: the hero would be an alien too but he wouldn t know yet and then he kinda turns into a hot girl and kills everyone
Spielberg: uhh without the hot girl thing maybe?
