I wouldn't put that all on Nolan's Bat movies. The Aurora shooter clearly had issues well before shooting up that theater.

I don't blame Nolan fans at all for that guy. The point this person was making was that Nolan's Batman movies seem to inspire negativity.

The Avengers first negative review, from a female critic, received waves of crazy responses from fans. Very ugly and disrespectful things.

But did it get as extreme as threats on her life?

I think that so many people are fans of Batman, that more people that are fans of Batman (rather than say, the Punisher) will be mentally off just considering the sheer numbers. His popularity being a negative, in this manner.

Nolan's Batman was a pretty dark and grim ride, particularly TDK. Whether it inspires negativity or just attracts those types of people, it's hard to say. I'd like to think it's had a much more positive effect overall than negative and brought a lot of people a renewed sense of excitement about big blockbuster entertainment over the past decade.

But because of how popular it was and the fact that it's been at the forefront of pop culture, it definitely just became a big talking point for a lot of people. People have strong feelings about Batman I guess, and Nolan's take was pretty bold.

I would say it made people very impassioned, one way or another.

My point is has there ever been any other instances where some crazy fan killed anyone pretending to be a character from a movie?
Exactly which character from the movie was he supposed to be?

How can you guys like Gosling as Batman? Bruce is a handsome guy, yes, but Ryan has some really feminine features, not to mention his high pitched voice. When I read the comics, I don't imagine Ryan, I imagine someone much more manly.

I'm not saying I hate Gosling, I'm a big fan, but he's wrong for Batman.

The Dark Knight Rises Sizzle - Home Video Release Trailer

Wow. That trailer reminded me how well shot the flick is. Sigh......too bad Pfister is retiring and his swan song is this film.

Agreed, it also reminded me of how good the trailers were for the film.

I'm kinda really curious to see what a Nolan film will look like with a different cinematographer.

I imagine it will look similar. Have you seen the Following? Nolan shot it himself and the rhythm of the camera was very similar to the rest of his films with Pfister.

His - or Pfister's - style has changed and evolved over the years. And that's kind of what I'm interested to see. Was it Nolan evolving or was it Pfister evolving? And will another cinematographer bring any different and new elements to Nolan's current visual style?

Wait what? The teaser and the first trailer sucked. It wasn't until trailer 2 did the promotional material for this flick picked up.

I thought they were both great trailers, I don't know why everybody doesn't like 'em.

Liked all the trailers. Between the teaser, trailer 1 and trailer 2. Gotta say..Trailer 2 was the one that blew me away.
