Love this thought.

As such, he is here much more of a communal construct, a collaboration, than he appears in other versions of the Batman mythology. Nolan’s universe makes it abundantly clear that although Bruce wears the mask, there would be no Batman without Alfred to stitch his wounds, without Lucius Fox to make his gadgets, Commissioner Gordon with whom to collaborate, the Mayor to turn a blind eye, Harvey Dent to advocate, the history and training of the League of Shadows – and in this latest film: without Catwoman and a certain new young detective to rely upon. Nolan’s vision is about the construction of a symbol, the kind of emblem in which a mass of people need to invest themselves to fight oppression and inspire change.

Yeah, which is very allegorical to what religion is. Or should be, at least.

A symbol that followers feed with their faith, and have the faith repaid with redemption and triumphs over evil and self doubt. It's a symbiotic circle.

Yah, I definitely understand how it could be compared to Christ, but then when Superman is compared to Christ and not Moses...it creates panic with some of the overly-religious types.

Superman is definitely the most Christ-like of any superhero and there's absolutely nothing wrong with that. Whenever you're dealing with a classic hero there's inevitably going to be parallels with Jesus and that's true with Batman as well, especially Nolan's version which is all about the power of the symbol and sacrifice and such.

Batman definitely had his "walk on water" moment in this trilogy when he showed up on the ice to save Gordon in TDKR. I liked that cause it acknowledges Batman's role as a savior and the parallels we might draw to Christ/religion, but at the same time makes the distinction of Batman being a flesh and blood guy who does miraculous things that are still based in reality and are bound to the laws of physics (or at least movie/comics physics).

Bruce didn't trust ANYBODY,.

Precisely my point. Why does he trust Bane not to blow the bomb when Batman returns? One cannot afford to take such a risk with a whimsical man who doesn't have anyhthing to lose and who has 20 million lives in his hand. In such a situation, will one risk the whim of a man or the Government which is on your side to protect the people.

Bruce doesn't trust anyone? Well if you take Alfred, Gordon, Fox, Dent, Rachel, Blake and Selina out of the equation, yeah he didn't trust anyone.

The irony of all of this is that Bale has played Jesus on film before as well.lol

So it's safe to say that Mr. Bale is Jesus.

Has anyone seen iron man 3 teaser trailer? (please do not get into a debate, I like the iron man movies, not here to compare blah blah) but toward the end of the trailer when iron man is being dragged to the bottom of the ocean, the sounds of it, is exactly like towards the end of TDKR teaser when the camera is going up the destroyed buildings.

honestly, I heard it too. not uncommon for trailers to have same audio. for example looper and alex cross' trailers have the same music.

i understand same trailer music or same 20 second cues etc. but that little part... but wahtever, I wasn't knocking it, was just pointing it out since everyone on here seems to point that something batman that was in something else.

He also talked about how much he admires what Chris Nolan did with 'The Dark Knight' films, he said "I'm a huge fan of 'The Dark Knight' series, what Chris Nolan did was to combine the highest level of artistry with great commercial success, it's what everyone dreams for, what he did with those films is truly amazing."

why didn't batman take the military's help in the end of tdkr? in the movie he basically takes down bane's army with his own officers' army which acts as a distraction as in the backdrop gordon jams the bomb. But when batman proclaims his return(the burning bat scene),he risks bane's detonation of the bomb in fear of failure of his plan at batman's hands who could have stopped bane(and at that time the device is not jammed).

So,in my opinion, the best and most logical plan for batman would have been to explain to the government the situation and to arrange for a cooperated attack. In this attack batman would jam the device(instead of gordon) and then signal the military to launch an attack(most probably aerial as the bridges were down). In this way, bane would be caught off guard and chances of success would be higher if talia's treachery is not taken into account which wasn't taken into account anyway by batman when he made his plan.someone please point out the flaws in my plan,if any exist.

can anyone answer the above question satisfactorily?

Batman has to explain to the government the situation? The government already understands the situation, and that's why they send in the special forces guy, and they are risking detonation in doing that. Yet Bane didn't detonate the bomb even after discovering the guy. IMO LOS believes that their plan will succeed even after Batman's return, up until Talia took personal care of the bomb. And remember that Bane's plan was to give the citizens false hope but he let the bomb deteriorate anyway.
