What answer do you want? Batman doesn't work that way.

Also, the military is shown to be willing to blow up part of a bridge to not let them out. There's no reason they would help batman here.

can anyone answer the above question satisfactorily?

Seeing all those people cross the bridge, may of resulted in the bomb going off. Yes seeing all the cops marching the street might have done the same, but those were Gotham Citizens. if Bane could have made Bruce suffer even more, he would have. And he better of believed he could have taken on all those people.

I mean, the only issue I thought was massive was that..how did it not end up being a huge gun fight haha, and more of a tactical approach. I thought that sort of style of war would have been gone in the what the early 1900s? (Im not a history buff by any means.)

I get why Batman didn't get the army, he had to be stealthy, they didnt know the cops were there till the symbol rose and bane saw them legitimately walking towards. I get it from a cinematic view, it looks impressive, and it is a cinematic experience.

Just not everything in this movie is completely logical, which isn't a bad thing, you have to be able to suspend your belief for most movies to work. Theres very few that don't ever cross the realm of "logic".

He didn't need the military's help. The purpose of the attack wasn't necessarily to "win" the battle, it was to focus the LOS' manpower in one spot so they could more easily place the signal jammer, and also with the idea that with the LOS engaged, civilians would be able to get off the island with much less risk of the trigger being pulled. That battle is all about taking the nuke out of the game, one way or another. Even if the LOS had won the battle against the cops, Gotham would have still won the war so long as the nuke was either reconnected to the reactor or taken far off shore. With no nuke there'd be nothing to stop the government from sending the military in.

And yes, the army blowing the bridge says a lot about how willing they were to intervene with the possibility of a nuke going off.

Also, I think Batman understood the symbolic value of Gotham's own fighting to take back their city, just as he understands the value that Batman being a martyr has for Gotham.

The Tumbler is my favorite Batmobile of all time...and then to have the Bat-pod as part of the Tumbler itself....that scene in TDK made me drool, haha.

For me it's...

Adam West Batmobile
Burton Batmobile
Nolan Tumbler
Batman & Robin Batmobile
Batman Forever Batmobile

Tumbler
West
Burton
the other two are crap. The one from the 30s-40s black-and-white show is better.

1. Burton
2. West
3. Tumbler
4. B&R
5. BF

Batman Forever's smokes the Batman & Robin one (just like the movies!). And im not really a fan of the Forever batmobile.

Wests is so underrated. Ill take that over Shumachers.

Burtons and the Tumbler are the winners for me. I will ALWAYS love Keaton's batmobile. But the tumbler is the most badass vehicle of all time. I'm hoping the reboot has a mix between the two.

That's awesome.

I am betting this will be on CBM.com pretty soon and it will overflow with Nolan/Dark Knight Trilogy hate.

No doubt what he admires the most is a huge tenpole film in 2012 shot in film and finished photochemically the most, as he himself is a champion of those things. But to do it in a huge Hollywood film is grand.

The most badass thing that Nolan pulled off in TDKR for me was how he took so many storylines from Batman comics and gave us a really great cinematic experience with Bats. From parts of Batman year one (when he runs into/meets Catwoman) , CataysmNo Man's Land, Knightfall/Quest, and Dark Knight Returns!! And he pulled it off masterfully! Gonna be hard to outdo, but cant wait for the reboot (Hopefully with David Fincher and a Fassbender Bats!)

I'm a Robin fan but in TDKR I would of substituted his presence in the film for Jean-Paul Valley anyday.Azbats was always the coolest and Nightwing of course.

If you mean you would have changed the ending so he's more of the villain instead of the good Gotham citizen who takes up the mantle...don't think it would work. Too much of a loose-end for Bruce's character. He would probably come back to take down Azrael.

*sniffle* First Sam Mendes and now PTA. It's like our baby Chris Nolan is all grown up! *sniff*

What has Sam Mendes said about Nolan? Is this the stuff I've been hearing about TDK being an inspiration for Skyfall?

^ I think so. He's been saying that TDK wasn't a direct influence on Skyfall, but that Nolan opened the floodgates for more intelligent action movies and that TDK was a game changer.

I found it:

“In terms of what [Nolan] achieved, specifically The Dark Knight, the second movie, what it achieved, which is something exceptional. It was a game changer for everybody.”

“What Nolan proved was that you can make a huge movie that is thrilling and entertaining and has a lot to say about the world we live in, even if, in the case with The Dark Knight, it’s not even set in our world… That did help give me the confidence to take this movie in directions that, without The Dark Knight, might not have been possible.”

High praise indeed. I saw Skyfall last night. It's fantastic. One of my favorite Bond movies.

I heard it was phenomenal. Will be watching it on the 9th when it's released here.

You guys won't believe this: I just bought the iPad edition of Cinefex an hour ago that has the Dark Knight Rises as the featured article.

The opening page of the article has a video. It's the Dark Knight Trilogy trailer that was posted on youtube leading up to the release of Rises. If I'm not mistaken, it's fan made right?

Rises only had 450 vfx shots...a lot of them rendered in 8k because of IMAX.

What kind of processor do you need to render in 8K?
