Even though I don't agree with a lot that I've been reading, I am pleased to see such activity in the TDKR boards. Polarizing? Very much so, but it's actually nice to see an even amount of love and hate where topics can continue to be interesting.

A Batman who only cares about organized crime and allows other crime to happen in Gotham seems like the laziest Batman ever created

I'd agree...if it wasn't stated before that the organized crime element is the biggest reason why there is crime in Gotham City to begin with. First Batman Begins when Rachel Dawes stated that men like Carmine Falcone create guys like Joe Chill and then when the Dent Act came through, it cleaned up most of the crimes where the GCPD will be going after overdue library books next. Statements that are clear enough that Nolan tried to picture criminal activity as simple as it wouldn't be such in a city like Gotham if the mobs are put to prison and stopped.

Wow, the TDKR boards have been more active today than the Iron Man 3 boards. Imagine that!

Well...Iron Man 3 sucked, lol.

Still though, those boards have been HOT with debate, it's been like TDKR all over again over there and possibly worse from what I've seen. But today I noticed we've been more chatty over here.

Also, I listened to that podcast on IGN and Eckhart seems like a really cool, down to Earth guy. It was pretty funny, he said he's been so busy he still hasn't gotten a chance to see TDKR. They asked him, "Do you know your picture is all over the movie and Harvey Dent actually plays a big part in the story?" He had no idea whatsoever, hahaha. And that story about the coin is great.

At least we're not the worst board on the Hype now. :)

Spider-Man(specifically for The Amazing Spider-Man 2). Has been for a while, imo.

Hmm, I might have to wander over there and see what the fuss is about. :)

ASM managed to somehow be worse than what I expected, and I expected a giant pile of garbage.

Makes me think of this:

It was only better than Spider-Man 3, imo.

But, I would say TAS-M 2's part of the forum is the worst because of my view of the first film and how I'm not so stoked about every single thing with the sequel like every other poster that shows up there...I'm not the most liked obviously there :funny:

^ I totally forgot about that whole debate even when mentioning that part of the forum...but, Jesus Christ, how ignorant that "debate" was.

Shailene Woodley has ****ing amazing legs I'd love to climb.

What are they ****ing on about now, if not that? That pic of Rhino? :funny:

The Spidey boards have calmed down for the most part now that we're getting new (amazing) set photos almost every day. But sweet Jesus that Mary Jane thread is infuriating, I swear 90% of the people in it have to still be in middle-school.

As for TDKR. I have never seen a more depressing board than this on July 20th :(

"omgz thur wur many teh plot holez!"

That's how I remember it. :oldrazz:

Rhino: Cross-species vs mech suit. I'm in that argument; its like shouting at, and running headlong into, a brick wall.

I Think IM3 is definitely more polarizing than TDKR was, at least among fans. The general public adored TDKR and it seems IM3 is getting an overwhelmingly positive reaction too, but the fan reaction is completely divided.

I think the biggest issue with TDKR was that fans knew too much going in (for their own good). We basically knew the details of the Talia twist. We'd seen dozens of set pics of huge sequences. So some fans were like, "That was it? Nolan played it safe, no surprises, no risks, plotholes, blah blah." But with IM3, fans knew too little going in for their own liking, and really felt duped by the "twist". They were led to believe one things, which got them excited, and when that didn't pan out, they turned on the film. I've seen people say some pretty nasty things about IM3 so far.

The criticisms of it are quite different than the criticisms of TDKR.

Mmm, this is very apt I'd say. Very different reasons for the polarization.

Not really. Myself and many other stayed away from spoilers and it still let us down. We expected more and it was a little shocking watching it the first time and thinking....noo....noo...this isn't the route the movies taking...this isn't getting any better...i'm dreaming....nooooooooo! Still can't get the bad taste out of my mouth. Haven't seen IM3 yet but I'm in no hurry.

TDKR just smacked of being competent. The fireworks of TDK were hard to follow. Overall, making a mediocre threequel is no mean achievement.

Yep this is me (IM3 included).

It was inevitable that Nolan wouldn't please everyone. I accept that there are people who hate it, think it mediocre, or loved it. Although, I will admit I am perplexed by some of the criticisms of TDKR.

Yeah, its interesting to see the same people trying to speak for others' yet again in regards to why people didn't take to TDKR.

Indeed, very interesting. Almost fascinating.

Don't you see? It can only be outside, ancillary influences that wholly contribute to someone not liking this movie! No one can possibly be disappointed in it on its own terms.

^ Exactly. It's the same thing on the IM3 boards. You must dislike the Mandarin twist because you wanted him to be asian with magic rings....it can't POSSIBLY be that you found decoy Mandarin more interesting than the real one.
