 :hrt:

I definitely wish it was longer but I still liked the last fight. Plus, I love this part:

Yeah, Bale's mean mugging and the cape billowing in the wind, yeah I do love me some TDKR. It's definitely got some downright fantastic moments in it.

Dude, watching Rises for the first time, right when Bane catches Batman's punch again, but this time Batman just powers through it and Bale starts growling while pushing Bane backwards.....:wow:I was totally in the zone.

The last leg of the fight, where Batman finally gets the upper hand over Bane, is just exhilarating. It doesn't last very long but seeing Batman bust the piping and Bane going berserk is as satisfying of a fight I've personally ever seen. The last bit with Batman dodging Bane's tantrum and finally kicking him through the door was such a cathartic release.

Yup. It really felt like that moment in a boxing movie where the underdog hero takes control of the fight and the KO is inevitable.

I love both fights as well. Rises is among my very favorite comicbook movies, even with its flaws.

I also love the "Rocky" moment where Batman manages to bust Bane's mask :brucebat:

Never post that gif again. I think I'm gonna have nightmares, now.

I think you are forgetting that those are supposed to be Gotham City Police in the background. Most police officers in real life don't know how to legit fight unless they have prior military service. Some might have been in bar fights, but that's about all the fighting a cop is going to know. They aren't trained in hand to hand. Just how to throw someone to the ground and cuff them. Those skills won't do very well in a fire fight with mercs. And these untrained cops have been held captive for months and are weak. So what's going on in the background is pretty accurate to how a bunch for cops would look in a hand to hand combat situation. Actually a more accurate depiction would be them all getting their asses stomped into the ground in a matter of minutes.

What isn't accurate at all tho is the idea that Bane's men would charge the police head on when they have tumblers and automatic weapons and other artillery. Batman only took out one gun on one tumbler. So why the mercs forget their guns and charge head first into a bunch of civi cops is beyond me. They would have lobbed tear gas and flash bangs straight into the police from the front and from the building windows above and sent a couple tumblers to the rear to flank the cops and box them in. Slaughter commences. No more cops. Sure the way it played out in the film makes for a cool scene, but that's only if you don't give it a whole lot of thought. Point is, it does no good to over think these fictional situations. Just take it as is and enjoy it.

I don't mean some crazy choreography, but sure as hell make sure it's not clear as day that some of the people were pulling their punches to the point there's a huge gap between their hand and a mercenaries face.

Clear as day if you're not paying attention to the center of the action, which is Bane and Batmans fight.

The mutant leader rematch was also what I sourced as an example of how to do that fight right. It would have fit in like a glove, especially considering how much Rises borrow from Returns and how loyal Bane's men are to him in the same way.

That pretty well sums it up for me as well.

Nahhh. There were a few wonky ones in the sewer fight, but all their punches in the final fight looked fine.

*Prays for this not to turn into a multi-page debate about fight choreography*

:whatever:

You guys sure like to exaggerate just to win a point.

Even if there are some soft hits, im a wrestling fan :hehe: im used to some punches not landing. Good thing is, they're in the backround in this fight. Maybe if you've seen this movie 3 times or more then you could start looking for that s**t, but what does it really matter?

Like BatLobster said, let's not turn this into a fight about choreography. That s**t bores me to tears. The last thing i give a damn about when im watching a movie is friggin fight choreography, i dont care what genre it is.

So anyways, back to the bad fight choreography. That **** looks horrible.

amirite?! :awesome:

At least my face isn't as horrible as that terrifying alien looking man-baby gif above.

*will not quote from terror*

Lol...JackWhite unintentionally uncovered Travesty's Achilles' heel. Deploy it to diffuse all future trolling! :oldrazz:

Personally I never noticed the wonky fight choreography in Rises. Movie has bigger problems anyway.

It stands out more and more with every rewatch.

And im sure that has a LOT to do with this forum discussion and how we've been pointing it out, pausing the damn blu-rays to take screenshots to throw them up on the internet. Making GIF's and youtube videos. I wonder if most of the old classic movies have these problems during battle scenes? I bet every single one of them do. But we now have the means to nitpick the hell out of everything due to our technology and boredom.

I may notice, if I ever watch this movie again. :hehe:

Of course, it happens all the time. There are movies outside of your Nolan world that gets the same treatment. :oldrazz:

Speaking of re-watching, I've been holding out on myself. Haven't touched a Nolan Bat-flick all year. I'm thinking my first ever trilogy marathon sometime in the fall. Glory.
