Damn, he looked rough in 2010. Glad he took off some of the weight. It's really night and day with how he looks now.

@CBS Evening News: Wow, what a shot. Ice surrounds #NYC on a cold day .

Seems familiar....

Death or exile? :cwink:

"Either sentence is imposed by forcing the renegade out onto the cracking winter ice that surrounds the city and watching him try to totter and slide across to the safety of normal, non-revolutionary America. No one ever makes it.

I’m trying to make a number of points at once about “The Dark Knight Rises,” but I can’t help being distracted for a second by the fact that no living New Yorkers, in all likelihood, can remember significant winter ice on the Hudson or East rivers (which was relatively common in the 19th century). I honestly don’t know whether Nolan is some kind of furious right-winger, and I also don’t think it’s an especially important question, but in his Batman universe global warming seems to be a myth."

:hehe:

He's english I highly doubt he's a right winger, at least in the American sense.

BTW, salon's review of TDKR is beyond idiotic. The fascist Batman film? Ha, yeah right.

I don't understand where all these "right wing" name-callings come from when it comes to Nolan's franchise. Hell, to Batman in general.

It's all partisan BS IMO. The films do have certain ideas and messages, but none of them were preachy. I can just as easily find left-wing messages in them that can be deemed as dogma.

Too bad it's Gotham, not New York..

Ha, I'm at work in Manhattan right now. Wonder if I can "follow the thick ice" back home to Jersey. :oldrazz:

And Nolan's Batman movies are blatantly politically ambiguous. It's been said numerous times.

I should have known this would be done: Fifty Shades Of Wayne.

"To what do you owe your success?"

"Potent hallucinogens."

lmfao!

I was really hoping the mash-up may take an American Psycho turn.
"I have to return some video tapes."

Yeah, I was extremely disappointed there wasn't any footage from American Psycho used.

"If you're uncomfortable, I want to give you a sedative."

:lmao:

From a recent Neill Blomkamp interview:

IGN: What drew you to that world?

Blomkamp: I think that the combination of what Ridley [Scott] did and the usage of Giger’s Freudian sexual terror imagery and the set-up of the first film and then what [James] Cameron did with the second film – just the perfect storm of what those ingredients were, and for my own visual style and what I like, it was just this weird, perfect unity of everything, you know? I think that’s really what it is. I can’t think of anything that comes close to it in terms of an existing franchise. And my other favourite character – though I don’t want to participate in this world – is Batman. I think the Chris Nolan Batman films are incredible. For me – for my own aesthetic and taste, I think they’re amazing. That’s a separate thing, that’s kind of character-driven. Alien is a unique thing for me – it’s a unique storm of perfect ingredients.

^ That's awesome. It is terrific how many directors have given big complimentary shout outs to Nolan and his Batman movies. From Blomkamp to Spielberg.

Blomkamp is going downhill now with each movie, but nice praise. Hopefully he does Alien justice. Ill give him one more shot.

I got worried when I saw BB at number 20 and TDKR at number 19. How does Kick Ass, Hellboy 2, and Blade get voted higher than them? The top 5 are solid (hooray for TDK still being able to take the top spot all these years later).

Delighted to see not one of those awful Amazing Spider-Man movies made the list.

I'm surpised that:

1. Iron Man didnt reach the top ten

2. Batman Returns made the top ten

3. Watchmen made the top ten

4. Both Superman 1 and 2 reached the top five

5. Spider-Man 2 wasnt in the top five

And yeah, both BB and TDKR were too low for my tastes.

I am also very surprised The Winter Soldier didn't make the top 10, but Guardians of the Galaxy did. Just goes to show that fanboy opinion and general public opinion are not always the same.

Yes, Shauner, we know... you think other peoples' opinions are ridiculous. :whatever:

-----------------

Nice to see Batman Returns in the Top 10. Very well deserved. Although, I will say that Batman Begins deserves to be much higher on that list.

Also, I'd gladly sacrifice Kick-Ass for Batman: Mask of the Phantasm.

Joker practically says if Amazing Spider-Man 1 & 2 were on the list, it would be ridiculous (he's thinking this, and so am i). Yet you want to be an a**hole to me because i said one spot was ridiculous. I won't apologize for thinking Batman Returns is a piece of crap script/story with nice visuals. Nope. It has no business beating Batman 89 on any list.

Interesting list but a shame that the original RoboCop wasn’t included. However it was cool that The Rocketeer, The Crow, and The Incredibles got recognition.
