That's how I feel about it, no one questioned how come that rich boy was not judged into icy exile.

... Because they thought Bane killed him himself. Again, the last time anyone saw Bruce was him getting taken directly to Bane by Catwoman. And it would have made sense for Bane to do that so personally given how much Bruce was known as a rich jerk to the public.

Indeed. I've picked up on how Bruce has a hood over his head at the beginning of that scene, too. Much like how we're introduced to Bane in the prologue with his hood. It may not be a parallel, but it's interesting to note in any case. Much like how Bane is shown to pull the same skyhook trick we see in TDK.

Bane and Bruce being similar but different - is a theme Nolan intended. They were both LOS members - one left on their own terms, and the other was excommunicated. One became a selfless hero and the other a brutal terrorist. It's Bruce Wayne on the wrong path.

Yeah, it's pretty obvious all the parallels they were trying to draw. I like to them of them as the good/bad sons of Ra's myself. One favored son who rejects the father, the other loyal son who is rejected by the father. And I've noticed the hood thing too, good call. There's a lot of symmetry going on in Rises, both within the movie and within the trilogy.

What about the parallel between Bruce and Selina? Both gave apples to an impoverished kid, though not without a bite first.

I think it was more he was intrigued by Selina. Or he seemed to be when he met her at the party.

I liked that Bruce saw in Selina something more than just what was on the surface.

There is more to Selina than meets the eye. Watch Love and Other Drugs, that catsuit does not do the pair justice.

Bruce Wayne suffers a lot in this movie. He's locked away in Wayne Manor brooding about Rachel for many years. Plus he's not needed as Batman due to the Dent Act. His first big return to crime fighting via the batpod chase is ultimately laced in failure. Sure, he takes down some goons and saves a hostage, but the tablet he picks up successfully uploads its program, resulting in him becoming bankrupt via the actions of Catwoman and Bane.

He didn't have much of a reputation it seems beforehand due to being a shut in for so long. But the 'bad stock gamble' just makes things worse. He's not welcome at Wayne Enterprises board meetings, and Alfred has left by this time. In his moment of dejection, he hands control over to Tate. Who as we know is the root of the problem. And shortly after Bruce gets thrashed by Bane in the sewer.

Much like Bane's plan, which is ambitious and full on, Bruce's arc is also heavy. I like how much he goes through. I'd say it's the most a Batman/Bruce Wayne has endured - in the films anyway. But on the upside, he escapes captivity from the pit and the bomb is successfully taken away from Gotham City. He saves the day and gets to retire with Selina. He has peace at last.

That's why the movie inspires me. The guy is spiritually stripped down and he still finds a way to climb a massive pit in order to stay alive and make his way back to his country. It's f***ing unbelievable when you list everything he went through in his life, especially in the final movie.

If there's ever a character who deserved peace, it's that version of Bruce Wayne. This is why i argue with people on this forum when it comes to the ending. If he died sacrificing Gotham, i would have been beyond pissed off. I would say it's not worth it. Gotham and their people aren't worth a complete 100 percent sacrifice. He deserves happiness after living a painful life. I don't recall the guy treating people like s**t either. He wasn't a piece of s**t. He, like in any version, is a tortured soul, but he's a good soul.

I would take what Bruce goes through 100 times over what Daesu goes through in Oldboy.

Super late but the bvs trailer was so good my skepticism is all gone lol

Good trailer but Snyder always has epic trailers. Even for his bad movies.

What i dont trust with the new one? The third act.

He'll nail the conflict between the two. Having Bruce watch 1000's die including his own workforce gives him a personal motivation to go after Superman.

Yes, on paper. Whether Snyder can pull off the drama remains to be seen.

It's Snyder. He might get distracted by a cool action sequence.

Im very happy with that part, but i dont trust Snyder enough to say that he'll nail anything when it comes to character. With Zack, i take the "ill believe it when i see it" approach.

I've seen incredible trailers to s**t movies, and I've seen s**t trailers that were great films. As a comic book fan I (like many others on this board) have learned from being burned in the past that trailers guarantee nothing on quality.

Exactly. The trailer has one specific job, to lure you into seeing the film. But it doesn't guarantee a quality movie. You have to sit down and watch the movie from start to finish, and that's the only time you'll know if it's quality. A trailer doesn't guarantee anything, only if the images and concept interest you (or excite you) enough to see it in the first place.

So to me it feels like conclusion jumping, when an excited fan thinks a good trailer means the director is going to nail the characters or nail the movie as a whole. Especially since "character" is Snyders weakest point. Even if you love most or all of Zack's films, he lacks a bit of focus when it comes to character and writing.

Comic book adaptations are also really tricky, especially when you're working under a huge studio with so many people wanting specific things for a growing franchise/universe. Argo writer or not, there's no guarantee that even Terrio will "nail" the characters. It's one thing to write a script for Ben Affleck's new film. It's another thing to collaborate with DC and Zack Snyder for a Batman vs Superman movie that has to tie to multiple Justice League movies. Directors and writers have a little more control for DC than they do over at Marvel, but it's still different than writing a one-off for Argo.

Ill believe it when i see it. If im impressed, ill show it after i see the movie. After watching the trailer multiple times, it doesn't convince me than im getting a good movie. It's just showing me that Batman will look a lot cooler than i thought a couple years ago. And that there's a chance that it could be a good movie.

I don't think i've ever seen a piece of **** cheesy trailer and ended up seeing something great though. But i have seen a massive amount of great trailers turn into average or below average films. Prometheus was one of the best trailers of the last decade (maybe i'm exaggerating, but i remember being pumped). The movie was average at best with some good things but a ton of dumb **** too. I felt like it wasn't necessary.

To be completely honest, I think the Comic Con trailer showed exactly what the movie will probably be. A big, bombastic movie with tons of over the top fantasy action that goes for a dark/comic booky tone.

My thing with the Man of Steel trailers is the first three trailers really painted a misleading picture and made the movie feel like a Terrance Malick movie meets Batman Begins. The Comic Con trailer to me just felt like a typical Zack Snyder movie to me (ala the Nokia MoS trailer). Tons of cape porn, tons of CG, the "epic" knob dialed up to 11, even some shaky performance moments IMO.

So for better or worse I feel like it's probably an honest representation of what the movie will be. I'm hoping that since my expectations are much lower this time around, it'll be easier to just go along for the ride. Because it does look like it may be a fun ride.

Oh, the myth that Snyder's movies are nothing but action and have no substance. Wonder where that came from. To me MOS has really no less depth than any other Superhero movie besides the Nolan ones. To be honest, i found it even more dramatic and deep than pretty much anything else that came out in the last 10 years or so, aside from the Batman stuff.

Dream crushed. :'(

Bruce's sanity was questioned in comedic ways more often than not in TDKT.

Well you know a guy who dresses up like a bat clearly has issues.

Would Bruce go to a prision or a mental house if he was arrested?
