Yeah, there's no reason to expect that the characterization of Leto's Joker won't be pretty spot on, even though the design is atrocious.

I like his grey suit. That look is amazing (the one where he hits Harley in the parking lot). But those tattoo's still kill a bit of that for me.

The article is a bit overly sentimental, but I understand where the guy is coming from. My emotional connection with Rises is the strongest of the three films even though I can understand the areas where people find fault. The emotional component trumps that for me, it has such a strong effect on me. It's just oozing with heart, and if you connect with Bruce as a character in any way, his character arc is unbelievably positive and reaffirming.

To be honest, I think the reason people are so harsh on it is that they take all of the things it does great for granted, because we'd already seen two great Nolan Bat-films, and just focus on the flaws. It's also clear that a lot of your average comments section trolls just enjoy tearing it apart because it's the thing to do.

Tbh though, the fact that it has some flaws just makes it more beautiful to me in a way. It's perfect in its imperfection to me. A bit less brain, but a lot more heart. I almost feel like it's cult classic material, especially with Bane as such an idiosyncratic villain, but it's way too popular for that.

Leto’s Joker may stray from the source material a little bit, his look is awful, but I think he’ll do quite well. I would like to see a super comic accurate live-action Joker, but I don’t think we’ll ever really get that unless they done the BTAS characterization of him. Though, I don’t think that version would do well in live-action and Hamill is definitely not in shape for it. Be thankful for what you got so far, Leto may give Ledger a run for his money.

Leto playing the role is the only possible saving grace to that eyesore of a Joker.

Looks like the trend of me not loving what I'm seeing from Affleck in clips continues.

I can't put my finger on it, but I just keep detecting vanity in the bits we're shown. He is trying really hard, and it shows. With Bale/Keaton, there was a sincerity. No trace of vanity. Affleck, to me, at the moment feels like he'll be more in the vein of Kilmer and Clooney. It's just that visually he's so close, that it almost makes up for it. And I thought Kilmer and Clooney were decent Bruce Waynes , for what it's worth. Just not anywhere near my favorites.

I liked it. I think you can take that final reveal for Bruce, his expression, in both ways. Trying reallly hard or great acting. It;s all about context, and what comes after. I think he looked a bit funny in the cowl then he nailed that bat-turn, bat-look towards Superman. We'll see. Im still 50/50 on him because of the previous trailers.

See, something about the look he gave when he was unmasked just bugged me. All I could think was...

"Don't be fooled by how sexy my cowl-hair looks, I'm really mad! Really!"

I understand. I can definitely tell Ben is a fan though, and is trying his hardest. I just can't help seeing Ben Affleck instead of Bruce Wayne/Batman but that's probably more a problem with me. Batman's the one superhero that I like seeing the character more than the actor so usually I'd prefer an unknown over a star. I did like that Batturn shauner. That was my favorite part of the whole thing.

To be fair, I know it's a nightmare scene so things may be a little extra heightened, but it's just becoming a consistent thing I keep noticing with each clip I see. And I agree The Chris, I tend to not like an actor I have a lot of previous baggage with in the role, and I concede that's my own issue as well. I'm just waiting to see if I have that moment where I stop thinking of it as "Ben Affleck as Bruce Wayne" and just completely buy in.

Btw, I love my girlfriend's innocent candidness. Her only comment on the footage was, "looks like a video game". With no real knowledge of who directed the film or what my opinion on him is. :funny:

I think it has more to do with what footage they're choosing to show us Batlobster. They're trying harder than Affleck, to show us that this new Batman is older, angrier, so they're going for the ANGRIEST faces and sequences that they can find. At least that's what i hope. I could be right on this.

That's definitely possible. They're even doing it with Superman. I actually noticed Superman's rage face more than Batman. It definitely was the thing that convinced me that this was definitely a dream scene (since I don't read spoilers and stuff. It felt just too un-Superman like to be real)

I hope so man. Believe me, I would love nothing more than to walk out of the movie with a sh**-eating grin on my face having loved the hell out of it.

You could very well be right and everything works better in context. Allow me to balance my negativity with some positivity too.

I agree with you guys, this Bat-turn was nice. Reminds me a lot of Bale there.

At first I was turned off by the hilarious overacting by both Supes and Bats before remembering that it's most likely a dream sequence. At least I hope it is.

Well, it does.

It just has to be. It's just too much, especially on Supes part.

Is this the new teaser we're all talking about? Did nothing for me. Honestly wasn't expecting it to though in fairness as the other trailers and footage haven't either.

Batman was pretty much the most interesting thing about that teaser for me. Like I said on the BvS forum, Batfleck will probably be my favorite aspect of the film, even if I end up disliking the movie as a whole.

On reddit they are predicting that, because Affleck is portraying Batman more angry-like and paranoid, that he will win an Oscar for the role in an upcoming solo film.
