The Dark Knight Rises The TDKR General Discussion Thread - - - - - - - Part 156

Oldman is what I call a chameleon actor. He can play so many various roles and seem so different in all of them. How he has not won an Oscar yet is beyond me.

Who ever plays the next Jim Gordon has big shoes to fill. Along with Ledger's Joker, Oldman's Gordon has to be one of the most praised interpretations of a Batman character.

The Dark Knight trilogy ensemble of Bale, Oldman and Caine was just great.

You know the best Gotham city on film? The "city" in Se7en. It's got the lived in feel of a real city while still being exaggerated, evocative of a place that revels in corruption and crime, a place and people abandoned by the god they rejected. Fincher creates a perfect vision of hell on Earth. I can't think of a better Gotham.

Damn, that city DID make a great looking "Gotham".

Not if you're AnneFan :o
The Intern is a good movie.

TDK Rises is a good movie too. It has its fair share of great shots and moments:

How would you know? Have you seen the Intern? :o

Maybe they reused it from the TDK sizzle reel?

Really annoying the people keep saying the Robin John Blake will become Night wing or another hero. He becomes the next Batman is the only answer.

Nah, he becomes Nightwing or another hero.

Nah, he becomes Nightwing or another hero.

But at the end he gets swarmed by bats, just like Wayne. And then he is literally raised from the ground as the title "Dark Knight Rises" ends the film.

Nowadays i like to think he becomes Batman. It's the only thing that makes sense in that world and with what Nolan set up throughout the film/trilogy. But it also doesn't mean that Blake can't take the time to train before he ever puts a suit on. Robin (any version of Robin) becoming Batman, taking over, yeah it's the only way to pass the mantle once Bruce is done with it. And Blake really was an amalgamation of what the Nolan brothers and Goyer thought were Robin's strongest character traits. Mainly Grayson, Drake, Todd. He probably resembled Grayson in Nine Lives the most though. It seems like that's what they were going for.

I was being sarcastic. In any event, I don't think it matters what Blake ended up calling himself. It's open ended enough for fans to come up with their own theories.

In my head he becomes Nightwing. Inspired by Batman but something else. He's technically already 'Robin'. But indeed, it's so open ended that viewers can imagine whatever they want really.

Robin Boneman John Blake

It's the only thing that makes sense.

So Zack Snyder called in on the Opie w/ Jim Norton show today and they hung up on him mid-sentence. Kinda messed up!

Well it IS Opie and Jim Norton, it doesn't surprise me.

I don't know who those dudes are, but they sound like huge *****ebags.

Knight wing could be the next dark knight that rises :P and this knight wing could be bat based instead of comics night wing, who has a bird logo. also, the chalk bat symbol he drew while helping run gotham's resistance was basically comic night wing's logo, but white instead of blue, and to lines to be ears instead of one line to be a beak.

I always imagined if he came back for his own movie blake would be a batman/night wing hybrid, but would operate under the name night wing out of respect for bruce's dark knight. he'd probably be more open to working with a "bat family" to make up for his lack of training. plus he's used to to working with partners from being a cop.
