My dad is convinced that TASM won't be good without Toby. He wouldn't believe me when I said I heard that Garfield was better in many ways. :(

Anything I can say to convince him?

If your dad loved Tobey to begin with, I don't think there's much that can be done :o:oldrazz:

You've heard Garfield was better?

I heard his performance was good, but aside from a few TASM fanboys here and there, I never heard that it was miles ahead of Tobey or anything.

Well, perhaps you should tell him it's a different interpretation that he might like just as much.

Agreed. As I've said before, the thing that killed my interest in this film? Sony's panic and overexposure of the whole thing. That just ruined it. I was so on board at the beginning, then it became "Damage Control: The Movie".

There seems to be this trend now with showing more which is actually equaling less in my eyes. Prometheus did this too, gave out all the eye candy, and by the time I got to the theater... well, ya'know. TA suffered from this as well. They must think all movie goers are in the 12-21 demographic or something. They are the ones who spend the most at b.o. I guess.

TDKR hasnt really been doing this, and to that I applaud.

But this over exposure of blockbuster movies... isnt really doing much in the way of garnering my interest, it actually turns me off from wanting to see it.

I really would like to see TASM, but for some reason, I'm not dying and rushing to the theater like I must have this movie. I miss that feeling, and there are not many movies that can even evoke that kind of emotion out of me.

Watch this GIF while listening to the latest sample of Why Do We Fall - so hypnotic:

Yeah, TDKR's marketing has been pretty great these past two months. Giving us a good deal of footage without it feeling like we've seen the entirety of the film.

Yeah, show him these. :oldrazz:

Eh...Garfield as Peter Parker was more of an assh****. I rather pick Toby's Parker anyday.

I have a feeling that's how I'll feel after seeing TASM as well. That Garfield's performance will be fine, but that I'll prefer Tobey over him anyway. Or that they'll be different enough that they aren't really comparable.

Was he super awkward and hipster-esque?

Because I never understood the need to make Peter Parker into an awkward outcast. He's a nerd, not a loner.

Actually, for a better retort -

The game was originally meant to come out AFTER the film in the UK, but that magically changed to before release and I thought id try some freeroam..first minute it spoils the films ending.

It's like someone on the inside wants to spoil this so it goes back to Marvel.

I don't mind them starting over, but there is plenty of ways to tell an origin, all they seem to have done is tweeked an old one.

Make me want to go see a film, don't show me half of it in clips. And if you do put out clips...cut it off just as its at a cliffhanger, don't show what happens.

Why no Black or Hispanic cops in Gotham?! :o

I think Garfield looked like a better Parker and a much better Spidey, but I liked Tobey's innocence and his general portrayal of the character more.

Completely agree, now mind you, even with the minimal amount of footage we have seen from TDKR, I think its been just a tad much (for me). But I know those clips are for us of course but mainly for the GA, who doesnt get effected by such things as seeing spoilers. For them it just encourages them to want to see the movie more I think.

The differece with us and the general audience is that while they are just becoming aware of this movie maybe over the last few months, we have been following these movies with a passion in our hearts for years.
