Screen Name: Speedball
Character you would like to play: Hercules
Has this character appeared in the Ultimate comic books? If not, how will you 'Ultimatize' him or her?:I don't believe he has appeared in the Ultimate Universe. I'm basically going to keep him the same as the 616 version, but
no one is going to believe he is a god, like Thor in the original Ultimates series. He will however be more lighthearted than Thor.
Is the character a hero, a villain, or walking the line?: Hero
The big question - Why this character?: Because I love Greek Mythology, and he's become one of my favorite heroes recently.
Brief background information of the character: Son of Zeus, King of the Greek Gods, and Alcmene, a mortal woman, Hercules was once the greatest hero of the ancient world before being betrayed by his Olympian family. Possessed by Hera, he murdered his wife and children. In his disgrace, he performs his 12 labors. Eventually he was asked to join the Greek Pantheon, to Hera's dismay. As the Greek God of Strength, he influenced events around the world, until the Greek Pantheon fell out of favor with the people. Almost 2000 years later,
with faith completely lost in them, the Greek Pantheon has died and Olympus has faded out of existance, and the Half-Mortal Gods have been returned to Earth.
Powers, abilities, and noteworthy equipment:
Super-Strength and Invulnerabilty. I'm gonna leave that goofy mace out of the ultimate universe.
What can you bring to this game?: some knowledge of the Greek world, and some comedy.
What color and font would your character use? (Please fully
type the font out):

How many times per week do you plan on posting?: God... I'm really going to try this time.
Do you know how to post pictures on the Hype! boards:
Provide a small sample post for your character, about 4 paragraphs with at least one line of dialog:
2420 Years Ago
The Hellespont
Hercules approachs the army of Persians coming off of their ships at the Hellespont, the entrance to the Greek world.
The Persian empire has started a war with the Greeks, again. 10 years ago, the First Persian War ended. But during the brief period of peace, Darius the King of Persia, died. His son Xerxes blames the Greeks for his death, and his new found power has gone to his head. He claims he is a god come to Earth, and that all the Earth shall be his.
Little do they know that Greece has a protector, a god who will defend Greece's borders till his last breath, which makes being immortal very useful. Hercules has been a god for over a thousand years now, but he has never had to come to earth. There has never been a threat as large as Xerxes' forces.
As Hercules approaches the Persian armies, his booming voice is loud enough for all to hear
"Where is this self proclaimed God-King?! I would like to see the look on his face as I pull him off his golden throne."
The whole Persian army stops, and one small man comes forward. Well... small for Hercules. The man is 6'3" and built like a bull. This, however, for Hercules is nothing but a joke. Hercules stands above all men, and the muscles in his arm are as large as this one man.
"The King does not grace his presence on this disgusting land."
"HA! Why? Is he too much of a coward to face the People of Hellas himself? Being a God and all, I would think he could take on the Hellenes himself?" Hercules' booming laughter shakes the ground, and causes some of the boats to break from their moorings.
"You dare call Xerxes Sunking a coward?!" The man unsheathes his sword, his muscles tense up. He prepares to strike.
"I bet he sits in his little golden palace, giving orders to little men like you because he dare not even attempt to fight a mighty Hellene!"
The huge man charges toward Hercules. Hercules brings his foot backward and kicks the man, sending him flying into the sea miles from shore. The Persians stand in shock, but one man screams "Charge!" and the massive army stampedes toward the towering Hercules.
"HA! A whole army before lunch! I'm going to work up an appetite!"
