The Ultimate Marvel RPG Vol. 2: New World Sign-Up/OOC Thread

We've already come to terms that the cut off point for Ultimates is after Vol. 1, right? So that's one book down.

Seeing as you play Spidey, you should be the one to decide the cut off point for that title.

For the Fantastic Four, maybe cutting it off after the Tomb of Namor or President Thor?

Ultimate X-Men hows about the cut off point be after Return of the King?

Yeah, I'm pretty much in agreement with JB with regard to the cut-off points.

I'm so ****ing stoked to be able to actually play Ultimates :D

Leaving me in charge of Spider-Man continuity is a bad idea because I'll put it right before the Symbiote Saga since that's an arc I've wanted to do for longer than dirt's been around.

 Olive juice all.

Also, since a lot of people will be picking up the same character, I'd ask that we don't recycle applications.

What do you mean, recycled apps? I can't use the same ones I used before?

If it's a character that you yourself have Ultimatized, then, yeah, using the same app is totally fine. I'm thinking more in terms of all of the characters I play. Iron Man, Spider-Man, and Daredevil are all about to have completely different stories since the last time I applied, so recycling the app and changing only a few details is just lazy.

So do current players have dibs on their current characters or is everything free game?

I have Spider-Man, Daredevil, and Iron Man so, of course, I'm likely to say that I'd like dibs.

...Or at least for nobody to go after them if we end-up doing a free-for-all. I'm not impartial in this regard, so I'm leaving it up to the majority. One thing that will not happen is that AGMs and myself will not be getting reserves, as happened with the last reboot.

Could always implement the 24 Hour Rule that a few of the other RPGs use, or have used, when dealing with apps of major characters.

Well I was just asking out of curiosity. To be honest, I'm happy for all current (active) players to keep the characters that they have. It'd be pretty dickish to throw up an app for a character that another player has invested so much time in -even in spite of rebooting.

That sounds pretty fair to me.

For the first 24 hours the new OOC thread is up, everyone is up for grabs but, after that, it's first come, first served.

Wait, what? Everyone is up for grabs for 24 hours, then it's first come, first serve? Isn't that pretty much the same thing?

No, I mean to say that in the first 24 hours, anyone can apply for anybody, and there can be multiple applications for the same character. So, in the first 24 hours, anyone can apply for Spider-Man, but after the end of the first day, the first person who applies gets him.

Ok, so this will be a different 24 Hour Rule then.
The one I was meaning is that, usually in the game's first few days to a week, all apps for major characters must wait 24 hours before approval. That way if somebody else was working on a Captain America app, for example, they would have time to put it up.
The GM and AGMs then choose who they think should get the character when the 24 hours is up. Majority vote rules, of course.

Whichever everyone prefers is what I'll go with. Either one works for me. It just seems like there'd be less waiting with the first option. But, hey, that works.

So, any of you foo's got a problem with T'Challa being a member of the Ultimates when the re-reboot goes down? :cmad::yay::huh:

Look at you, with your mouth wide open and your eyes averted. Like you're ready to receive your gift. It is indeed awesome.

Olive juice.

The only reason I'm apprehensive about the 24 hour rule is that it seems kind of unfair that we're doing this re-reboot and saying folks may get their characters taken away.

I mean, I've played Iron Man for three seasons (I think?), and Spider-Man for two and a half, and Daredevil for a long, long, long time (on and off). That should probably get me some clout, or something.

And, yes, JB. It's like I took the words right out of your mouth. ;)
