The Ultimate Marvel RPG Vol. 2: New World Sign-Up/OOC Thread

God ****ing damnit I would post so much more, and I'd apply for a second character if we did this. Not to say I haven't enjoyed Thor, because I truly have, but the continuity and "partial reboot" always kind of made me go "Awww ****" whenever I had to post in here.
Did you just drop Deadpool? hahahaha

As far as the reboot of a reboot goes, I really am glad that there are more folks who have been feeling the way I have. The way we move forward with the idea, though, is this: Do we end the current season with the conclusion of the current arc with the Ultimates? Where will the continuity cut-offs be for the various books?

Oh, of course, I post and then I see MMs post.

But yeah, it was pretty much a given that I dropped Deadpool after EB bailed, since I had no knowledge whatsoever of what he had planned.

As for the cut-off point, I say we make it Ultimatum.

Except not.

But honestly, I can't wait. To just be able to play this game like we used to when it was still...you know, fun? To just be able to take your character and be free to do what you want. And to that extent, I honestly think we should make the cut off point (for the Ultimates), the ending of Ultimates 1.

I didn't dislike writing Thor this time around, but I did feel kind of inhibited by having to make him resent the Ultimates after having been betrayed and jailed. I wanted to be a part of the Ultimates and have fun, not have to end every sentence with "But I still ****ing hate you guys.", which is pretty much what I / whoever would need to do if the cut off point was Ultimates 2. Being forcibly set on that character development road is kind of..restrticing.

But yeah, that's my entirely self centered choice.

I totally agree with the bastard. I remember the happy days with fun random arcs...

That part in bold right there makes me think back to Season II when I first joined up. Those were the days, I tell ya. We had wooden keyboards, and had to walk twenty miles in the snow just to post! And then, the mods would come out no where and hit you with an infraction, and we liked it! WE LOVED IT!

But yeah, old cootness aside, I might be interested in this game again. That's a might, I know I sucked last time I tried to sign up.

Plus, I think we should perhaps try implementing (to some extent) the rule that was set over in the New Ultimate DC game. IE characters that have not been introduced in the Ultimate Marvel Comics universe by our cut-off point, when we finally DO introduce them into the game, maybe we should try actually making them Ultimate. Not just cardboard copies of their 616 counterparts, only with different costumes.

Think that's a good point, as well. If a character isn't established in the continuity cut-offs, then it should be a true ultimization. If we do that for all of the characters though, this ceases to be Ultimate and becomes Dawn of Marvels. Or Rise of Marvels. Or whatever.

Also, I'm making an executive decision. Whatever happens, I'm dropping the secondary title. This isn't going to be Ultimate Marvel Vol. 2, and I'm getting rid of the New Worlds crap. It's just going to be The Ultimate Marvel RPG.

If we're just going to reboot the season from square one again, why even bother finishing this arc if it's not going to matter?

Well that's what I'm trying to gather from people. We have lots of options.

• Complete reboot with no RPG continuity and comic book cut-offs only.
• Don't start a new season or reboot, and simply eliminate the continuity from the old game.

I think the reboot has more enthusiasm behind it right now.

Either option is cool with me. Complete reboot, I just repost my Red Skull stuff and just have BP already in America. Eliminating the previous stuff and skipping ahead I can just pick **** up where I leave off.

I'm fine with a complete reboot, too. I can just pick up all three of my characters in medias res. I'd prefer it if the Pepper arc didn't have to go, but that's not even a big deal. I just want the game to live again.

I have absolutely nothing to gain from skipping ahead. Complete reboot is where it's at.

Well, it seems like the majority are on board with the complete reboot (an actual reboot this time, no half-assin' here).

Personally, I say we just scrap the current game where it's at and start over so fresh and so clean with a new OOC and IC thread. Not really any point in finishing the current stuff if it's not going to matter.
