The Wonder Woman Costume Thread - - Part 11

Don't be a hero- take that concept art down!

It is beautiful, though...

I'm loving all of the new promo art for Wonder Woman!

But, I hope that Wonder Woman isn't wearing that cape in battle. It would be awkward enough fighting evil in high wedge boots, a little skirt and strapless bodice without adding what appears to be a fairly cumbersome cape as well.

Then again, both Batman and Superman wear capes and they still look good in battle!

Maybe, as others have theorised, it's primarily worn for some sort of "official" function or, due to its feather like design, as a magical means to assist Wonder Woman when she's gliding on air currents.

She won't use it on battle. First, it's a cloak, not a superhero cape. And she keeps her sword (and maybe shield) on the back, so she wouldn't be able to pick 'em up if she wears the cloak.

Also, using it to glide on air currents could look quite silly IMO. But even if it doesn't (assuming it would look like Batman gliding), I don't think this texture would work for that.

Well, these and similar pics have been posted for quite some time in several threads and there haven't been any repercussions so far, so it makes me suspect WB doesn't give a damn anymore, as they are already all over the internet.

And, in truth, I can't really make myself to delete it. It indeed is beautiful.

Agreed. It is just a thick, warm cloak. You should post those panels from comics you did in "Wonder Woman's Role in BvS" thread.

I respectfully disagree. :oldrazz:

WW is looking awesome. Is it possible that the feathered nature of her cape indicates that it plays some role in her "flight" ability? The use of a magical artifact would chime with her mythic theme.
I keep wondering if the cape has sort of magical touch as it appears and dissapears at her will....
I think she has the second best suit of the group. Superman can leave. :oldrazz:
Agreed. Superman is on another level of superiority :word:
What's flying got to do with the armor though? She can wear a variation on the armor and not fly. The inner lining of the cape in the concept art and the way it appears to have a hood just stands out to me, and we know that Snyder and his team can pull of mo cap armor. It would also add an interesting visual. Just spitballing on this is all.
:hmm
Me too. I'm expecting something similar to this:

I really need to see her shield... NOW!!!

No, but we don't know how it appears and dissapears tho... magic tho :sly:
Bullets vs. bracelets!

Thanks John-An.
My pleasure. :)
This Wonder Woman is gonna be THE WORSE WONDER WOMAN EVRRR!!! She's so dumb why is she blocking with her bracelets when she has a shield on her back!

:o
:funny: And don't get surprise that some "fan" makes that argument

I make the reverse argument... she should use only her bracelets. But okay, a shield may be useful for blocking larger stuff :o

The worst part is that some people want her to be invulnerable and find the use of the bracelets dumb... but are perfectly fine with her using a shield, or wanting to armor her up.

**** it. I'm going to risk my head:

Something about this reminds me of Harry Hamlin in the original Clash of the Titans. Either its the costume [especially the cloak], the pose, maybe both. I dunno.

Its awesome, by the way.

She seems to have something of a bird theme/motif going on here. The eagle on her costume, the cloak/cape has a "feather-ish" design, etc. The Gods in The New 52 also have this, so perhaps he film is nodding to her mythological origins.

Also, I'm glad that they've apparently toned down the "red, white, and blue" elements. Never been a huge fan of that.

I am glad they got rid of white entirely and went for gold on her boots/greaves instead. It was always an eyesore.

EHmaybe will post more WW artwork tomorrow.

I wonder how much he paid for the book?

By the way I just realized that tiara is different here:

I think that I like this one a bit more than the one they went with.

Edited out the logo and made into a PNG image

If only he'd learn where to put that hideous logo on the photos, it would be perfect.
