Passing both Civil War and Iron Man 3 is absolutely bonkers considering all of the movies' respective opening weekends.

The 4x multiplier is so close...

Do you not follow anything that gets posted here?? We have discussed this very thing in almost every page since the 3rd or 4th weekend when it became apparent that WW is breaking the CBM multiplier record. TBH, it's kinda baffling that you don't realize this.

WW is the LEGGIEST Live Action CBM ever (OWX3.96) and it's also the 4th leggiest movie ever to open north of 70 million behind Avatar, Zootopia and Finding Nemo and it's the leggiest 100 million+ opener ever.

All these records points to WW being too leggy for a CBM coming out in 2017. WW's legs have been extraordinary. It's legs are unheard of for any big opening movie.

^^ Turn that part about the 'LEGGIEST Live Action CBM ever' into 'LEGGIEST live action CBM ever that opened on a Friday and had a considerably big OW'. Also add in the fact that WW managed this ridiculous multiplier in the heart of the Summer makes it even more impressive and freaky.

Of course I know about it being leggy and even the leggiest CBM. I've even posted pics of Gal's legs to accompany that. I'm talking about it being "too leggy". He says it's one release from being too leggy. Mendelson says it as if it's a bad thing, as if it will be the eventual downfall of the movie or of CBMs or something. This is what I'm asking what he means by that.

I'm not getting any negative vibes from that sentence. He is probably talking about the 'moving of the goalpost' in order come to conclusions about WW's final legs at the BO. Plus even tho Dunkirk and Annabelle are showing great legs at the BO, they pale in comparison to WW. So Scott could be talking about that as well as in WW is the one WB release which is too freaky in terms of legs. I may not be entirely right here but I do think there is some misinterpretation on your part.

I always hoped the first lady of comics would be able to deliver a movie that became this big but never thought it was possible after the crap that came before her. Seeing her right next to Batman in that list brings a smile to my face.

Under "studio" what is BV for the Avengers, Civil War and Iron Man? Shouldn't it be Marvel Studios?

Meh. I enjoyed Wonder Woman more than Suicide Squad, but not as much as MoS and BvS. Still an excellent film though and I'm beyond ecstatic to see it perform so well.

Disney has the Ownership of Marvel Studios and they distribute the Marvel movies worldwide.

Buena Vista is the name of Disney company that distributes Disney / Pixar / Marvel Studios / Lucas Films worldwide. In other words -

    Buena Vista = Disney.

The advantage of not rebooting your universe at any sign of trouble and having faith in your character/franchise had paid off for WB.

Scott has written a couple time before about his belief that WW's legs may have impacted ticket sales of some other films by sucking all the oxygen out of the room. I'm sure that's true, but I'm also not convinced the effect was significant.

Next year we will see the triple bundle of BvS, WW and JL =P

And they are showing the BvS UC, good stuff, that's the un-meddled version, they should call it the un-meddled bundle special.

I think it's interesting that Gal Gadot was in Furious 7 directed by James Wan.

I wonder whether Wonder Woman would have a guest appearance in Aquaman movie. :hmm:

Bluntly, this does not follow. What advantage did Wonder Woman actually draw from being connected to the three prior movies? Aside, I suppose, from the high likelihood that if WB rebooted, they'd not have bothered making Wonder Woman in the first place.

Even if this were true, why would it be a bad thing? Competition between movies always happens, if Wonder Woman is taking ticket sales from other movies, its because Wonder Woman is a superior product that people desire. Its bad *for the other movies*, sure, but this is what is supposed to happen. If the other movies don't want this to happen, they should make a superior product.

How is that in any way an origin film? Origin films usually mean the origin of the hero. Otherwise are Spider-Man 2 and 3 origin films because they show the origin of Doc Ock and Sandman and Venom?

I think WW is going to keep that record for a while until we actually get a new solo hero. Perhaps Captain Marvel? I don't know if it will catch on in quite the same way as WW.

Normally when people say a thing is "too" something, it usually refers to something somewhat negative. Like if you say the person is too tall, or too short, it means he or she doesn't fit with anyone else. Or if you say a film is too long, it means that it has dragged out for ages, not that the film's length was just right.

Or if you say someone or something is too sexy, then while sexy in itself is a good thing, being too sexy might mean it's too distracting or too provocative for a particular situation.

Or if you say something did too well, then that usually implies that it affected it negatively. People might say that in the context of something being the victim of its own success where something did so well that it made it impossible or very difficult for something else to follow or for that thing to gain any further success in the long run.

So if Scott Mendelson says it's too leggy, I don't think he's just talking about how amazing her legs were, otherwise he would've simply said her legs were amazing.
