Apparently my reputation is already bad because my sister was playing Uno and got distracted, leaving the game that she was hosting. My bro in law also had to leave games to take care of his 1 year old son...yeah so...I'm screwed.

I forgot, but can you put a password on your account?

Yes you can. I believe it is in Account Settings or Privacy in the last tab on the dashboard.

Also, I imagine they would start fresh on the X1. I myself have about 60% un-supporting and 10% trash talk, even though i've never spoken a word in public matches.

My reputation is awful and it surprisingly is exactly how I am haha. On Cod I love trash talking, I think its funny to get other people so angry they just flip out on you...over a video game and if I'm not doing to good in a match, I'll quit. So my reputation is like 80% disrespectful attitude and 20% quitting

Yeah, I hope there are failsafes to prevent people who are mad that you beat them from down-repping you.

so will the X1 have a DVR function to record TV shows?

My rep is about 75% positive. I'll respond if someone trash talks or acts like a dick but would never dream of doing it to someone who didn't do something assholish to me first. What's the point when the guy you're doing it to could be a decent sporting player? Gears of War multiplayer, beat'em ups & FIFA are where my rep takes a hit, usually just for beating someone and not doing anything unsporting.

Game DVR, Skype, and Oneguide require a Gold account: Link

The Xbox One's Game DVR feature, which allows players to record and upload game footage, will be restricted to users with Xbox Live Gold accounts, Microsoft confirmed to One Hit Pixel.

A features page on Xbox.com lists Game DVR — along with the OneGuide TV guide feature, SmartMatch and Skype — as Xbox Live features exclusive to Gold members.

"I can confirm that Game DVR features will be available to Xbox Live Gold members only," a representative for Microsoft told One Hit Pixel.

Announced during the console's unveiling event in May, the Xbox One's Game DVR feature allows players to record important or impressive moments during the games they play and share them online. Earlier this week, Microsoft's Marc Whitten confirmed Game DVR would capture gameplay at 720p at 30 frames per second.

Polygon has also reached out to Microsoft to clarify Game DVR and other features' Gold member exclusivity and will share more details as we have them.

if enough people complain, they'll probably follow Sony's lead and do a 180 on this

Not surprising. MS puts everything behind a paywell. Even Netflix still is, even though literally every other device that has it now does not.

how does the game recording/DVR thing work on the PS4? is it behind the paywall of PS+, too?

They haven't said specifically one way or the other, but they have continually said that multiplayer is the only thing locked behind the wall. Media apps (like Netflix) are not behind the paywall.

The game recording is at the system level, the PS4 is always recording the last 15 minutes of gameplay, so I'd be surprised if it was locked behind PS+.

thanks.

I finally gave in and pre-ordered the One. I am conflicted, however, on which game(s) to preorder. Suggestions? I preordered Thief, but that was it.

I pre-ordered Ryse and Dead Rising 3. Gonna get Watch Dogs when I beat one of them. Don't wanna distract myself with too many games at once.

To me it seems there's quite a lot of games that are roughly of the same expected quality so it would definitely depend on which types of games you're interested in getting. But I'd pick from Battlefield 4, Assassin's Creed 4, Destiny, Watch Dogs, The Division, Dead Rising 3, Titanfall & Ryse.

Killer Instinct if you're into beat'em ups & Forza 5 if you're into driving games.

Good. Kinect ain't no gaming headset.

Well good, sounds like a good headset too although I don't use them anymore

Smart to include the headset. Hopefully that's the last change they make before release.

The dvr stuff is going to be best used while playing multiplayer so I don't see the problem if its hooked up to Live. It's why you buy a xbox to have the best online service and the best multiplayer out there

Can't you also use an external capture device with the Xbox One and capture anything you want with no limits?

Yes, that's the best way. As long as you want at 1080p & easy to edit and add stuff to. I know some guys who are always recording every minute of gameplay just in case of something good lol.
