I'm honestly not sure if is ever need more than 1 or 2 TB, lol.

Iv never owned any external HDDs, so im pretty much completely in the dark.

Hah IDK, iv almost used up all 500 gigs and we aren't even at the 1 year mark for the console. So I think ill try and find a 4 TB or higher when I go to get one.

I'm sure 3 would be safe. 1 would definitely be too little over the course of a 6 year generation cycle. Between Forza Horizon 2 in September and Witcher 3 in February, I'll be buying close to 10 AAA games which I'm sure will all be around 20+ gigs. That's already around 300Gs in space in just over the first year of release.

Yep, thats what im estimating as well(on the low end haha), and with some games, take Battlefield 4 for example, they have over another 20 gigs worth of updates and DLC. My magic number will be 4 TB I think.

Thinking about it, I really should just get a 3 considering I plan to re-sell single player games. There shouldn't be too much I'm keeping long term.

Well, I guess I can put up with that. I have a lot of games, but I only really play 20% of them regularly on any given console.

Can you play the games as they install if you get them on a disc? And if you don't get an external HDD will you just have to keep deleting the install data as you go?

Speaking of the Witcher I was really hoping they would eventually port the first one to the consoles. I know they made an attempt but it went sour with the company they put in charge porting the game. :(

Eh kinda. Like the PS4, when an install gets to a certain point, the game will let you play but it's almost never worth it. For example when NBA 2K14 gets to a certain download %, the game will allow you to play but ONLY 2 teams are available to use. From my experience, it's just best to let the whole thing finish.

Pretty much. Once you run outta space, just uninstall a game u aren't playing.

Yeah, and I hope Witcher 2 comes to PlayStation someday. :(

I have the first on PC but my PC can't handle the second very well.

I doubt that'll happen. CD Projekt Red is a pretty small studio and after they finish the 3rd Witcher, they'll more than likely move on full time to CyberPunk. Who knows tho, maybe someday there will be a complete Witcher collection released for the XB1 and PS4.

I completely forgot about CyberPunk, that I'm looking forward to. They also have GOG.com to run as well (I think its run by a small section though).

Xbox One console sales doubled in the U.S. during the month of July compared to May, Microsoft said today. The increase in sales is attributed to the release of the new $399 Xbox One model that is available without the Kinect camera add-on.

Microsoft did not specify just how many Xbox One systems were sold during the month.

The publisher pointed to exclusive titles like Halo: The Master Chief Collection, Sunset Overdrive and Forza Horizon 2 as games that will drive interest in the platform later this year, alongside other multiplatform releases.

Note: Microsoft say the sales data represents sell-through numbers based on internal data.

Whenever I come back to X1 it isn't automatically connected to the internet any more. Really annoying.

shouldn't there be a setting that makes it automatically connect?

Yes it always used to and now when I boot up it doesn't. I'm too busy to troubleshoot so it's not getting played.

MS: Kinect-less debut sees Xbox One monthly sales double in US

It looks like the Kinect-less line of Xbox One helped give the console a boost in June, when sales of the system in the US were "more than double" those of May. Microsoft announced the stat, revealing its internal data is based on its "retail calendar and sold through numbers," meaning they represent sales to consumers rather than shipments to retailers.

The company didn't offer any hard figures in its announcement, including what proportion of sales came from systems without the Kinect motion sensor. We may get a clearer picture of the Xbox One's sales performance on July 22 when Microsoft presents its latest financial earnings release. In April, the company said it had shipped 5 million systems to date, while at the end of last year consumer sales were up to 3 million. Continue Reading

Remote downloading in next update. Hell yes! With all the upcoming games I'll be buying digital, great to know I can initiate the download on SmartGlass while at work and don't have to wait til I get home. Great feature.

Really!? I Was just thinking how I wanted that feature to come to SG. I love that feature for the Playstation app so good to see it come to SmartGlass which was already the superior companion app.

I still wish we east coasters could play our digital games at 12am rather than have to wait until 3am

Edit*

Here's a link to the other features of the update, including 3D Blu Ray support
