The Xbox One - Part 8

Well so far I have been pleasantly surprised.

I am really impressed with the Bone's ability to multitask. Though the interface is still clearly optimized for Kinect, and not manual navigation.

I haven't really had time to play any games. Sunset Overdrive is still downloading (to be fair, it took so long mostly because I had to keep pausing it to do other things, and I didn't bother hooking it up directly).

Again, I am amazed by how big this thing is. They really should have named this thing the Colossus.

Now if someone breaks into my house, forget the guns. I'll just throw this at them.

Though it's actually kind of nice looking. Just huge. Like a nice marble slab, or an elephant.

Might still be fun playing against bots lol. But yeah in that case wait till it's dirt cheap. I'd get it anyway just because it's something you might want to have tried once. Kind of a part of this generation's history. (although on 2nd thoughts even Destiny would count for that as an important release, regardless of the reception)

maybe if Titanfall is like $20 on BF, I might pick it up.

It's 20 on Amazon right now. Physical.

I'm considering it.

really??!!

but then you have to pay for shipping.

I'm sure this will be a discounted item come BF.

unless it's still on sale at Amazon for $20 this weekend, then I might see if Gamestop can price match that.

You don't have Prime?

They do free trials.

I really wish that Target's Buy 2 get 1 free game promotion would have been a few days later. I might do it. Halo Collection, Assassin's Creed, and... Advanced Warfare?

I don't know. If it would have been after the 18th, it would be a no brainer.

I would be surprised if anyone will still be playing Titanfall after Black Friday.

People say it's a ghost town now. Wait til after Halo and Far Cry 4. Oh and GTA V just became a FPS.

no, I don't have Prime. and it looks like you have to spend $35 or more to get free shipping, so that kind of defeats the purpose of getting it cheap.

but really, it's not a big deal. Titanfall just isn't that high on my priority list. there are plenty of other games that I'm keeping my eye out for sales this holiday.

Tomb Raider. Diablo 3. ACU. Ryse. Forza Horizon 2. Halo.

and of those, if I had to pick 2, it would be Halo and Diablo. those 2 plus DAI and WWE 2K15 plus Sunset and CoD should be plenty to keep me busy for a long, long while.

i'd like to take this moment to reiterate why a game should not retail for $60.

although i'm aware you got a thread in the multiplat section talking about why we shouldn't be paying that much in the first place.

hey guys, before I get my X1 setup, just wanted to clarify.....

is there a setting that I can check so that my real name is NOT shared with or visible to others?

I'm concerned about my privacy. and I've been hearing more and more stories about gamers "swatting" each other. y'know, where someone get pissed about an online match, then somehow finds out the address of the other player and makes a prank call to the local police to raid that other players house.

also, should I plug the power brick directly into a wall outlet, or is it save to plug it into a surge protector?

It asks you if you want to share your name with your friends or anybody online. You don't even have to use your full name. Or if you want, just put some tag if you're that concerned.

oh, thanks.

so if you don't give permission, it won't share or display your real name to others?

Any one who really wanted to, could get access to your name and info, rather you display your name or not, but like its been mentioned, its an option you have to go in and set, its not a default option.

I plug mine into a surge protector. So far, so good.

ah, thanks.

and yeah, I think I'll pass on Titanfall. hopefully Titanfall 2 will have a proper solo story/campaign mode.

I'd rather pick up Tomb Raider for $20.

For games I'm not sure about I wait till they're really cheap as I still want to try everything eventually. Then you can sell and come out almost even if a disaster.

Oh lord, that thread.

I stand by my complaints. I mean, hell, at this point getting a game for 60 dollars is a bargain if it actually includes all the content, which is no longer a guarantee thanks to companies like Ubisoft and Activision.

Tomb Raider for 20 isn't bad. Though I am going to try my best to get it for as little as possible on Black Friday.

I'll be buying a few big titles before Black Friday, but that's definitely one title to wait to buy. Like Wolfenstein and Shadows of Mordor.

TR is already going on sale for around $30.

I don't see that as a good deal. I really liked that game, but it's not worth 30 anymore. Not when Last of Us is going for 40 before Black Friday.

Though I got the PS3 version for 10 dollars from Amazon new (crazy sale) so, that may have biased me.

I'd be willing to pay $30 for TR. but I'll wait till BF.
