The Xbox One - Part 9

Not necessarily. Beautiful Katamari was supposed to have a Ps3 version alongside the 360 version, but it got straight up CANCELLED and ended up as a 360 exclusive.

I don't think for that game's case it was because Microsoft paid BN to do so, but I'm sure for a game like MKX if they so wish, could pay netherrealm a decent amount to make it at least a timed exclusive.

Very different type of game and situation, so the connection is faulty.

bro, if Microsoft is publishing rotr which I'm pretty sure they are, the wait for Ps4 owners is gonna be way longer than 6 months. Remember, we just talked about ME, and Me1 was published by Microsoft first. That same year, EA bought bioware and even then it took a whole FIVE years for the first game to come to Ps3.

So needless to say it will be at least a year before rotr comes to Ps4, if ever. Because honestly, I never saw Me1 ported to Ps3 coming.

and yes, that's what Phil said

dude was kind of annoying in the video though because he wouldn't shut up about not acknowledging sf5 as a Ps4 exclusive.

If it's 18 months - 2 years or even more it's worth it. If it's a year it's worth something, not too much. 6 months would be a complete waste of money. Lets see what happens.

And that's great to see from Spencer. Everything he's said so far has been on the money. If he'd been in this role 6 months before launch things would be totally different now.

Sure, nothing is. But it won't happen. I think they've already said that MKX won't even have platform exclusive content this time around/

well I tell you this. it's definitely impossible to see halo (other than a movie) on playstation, or uncharted on xbox. that much is still impossible.

oh you mean how kratos was an exclusive character in mk9?

Well, no, technically it's not impossible. Anything is possible. But it won't actually happen.

Yeah

you mean it's worth it for m$ to have paid for the exclusivity? 6 months alone is worth it in my opinion. Even in 6 months, the gamers on the opposite platform will have lost interest in being able to play it, and sales will not be as high as the xbone's. and any longer time period will only make said sales be even lower.

however, the only game I can think of that had a 6 month exclusive period was virtua fighter 5, and i'm pretty sure the 360 version sold better - that might've been because the Ps3 version was lacking online.

okay yeah I guess if we're talking ANYTHING, then yes, they may go crazy and just let their 1st party games be multiplatform.

gee, that sucks. even though kratos kinda sucked in mk9 he was a great addition to the roster.

I was thinking more in the area of either getting out of the dedicated console race.

you mean if sony or m$ went sega and just stopped making hardware????

yeh, I suppose that is more within the realm of possibility than wat I said.

Yes I'm talking about whether it's worth it for m$ or $0NYen :yay: to have paid for exclusivity.

I think people, even hardcore fans of that particular game who have the other console can wait months as long as they know it's coming to their console within that time. If it's 18 months on the other hand they may well be tempted to buy the console it's on as well even if they don't necessarily want any other games for it, depending how much time they plan to put into the game in question. So multiplayer games are usually better for that, but a single player game where you can put in 100-200 hours might also work.

well, hardcore tr fans who already have a ps4 should be thinking of getting an xbone already, whether or not rotr's exclusivity is timed. but for the average gamer, i'd say if they wanted it they'll wait for whenever, although they're not actually waiting because they're not paying attention to when the game will be released for their platform. then when it does come out, they'll either get it or not get it, but it is more of a gamble because by that point the game will be old news.

You mean they should be thinking of getting an X1 because of other features/games outside of RotR anyway?

no, I'm saying if they love tr to death and don't wanna risk waiting forever for a port that might not come, they should be thinking about just getting an xbone, even if they already have a Ps4.

If there's no word and it looks unpredictable when it's going to come they probably will. If they believe it's gonna be 6 months or something short they'll probably wait.

I mean, if they're hardcore, they may not wanna wait... just sayin'. gtasa had the shortest timed exclusive lifespan in the Ps2 days, and a whole bunch of people bought Ps2s to play it instead of waiting for the xbox version, which I think is the xbox's best selling gta game (sa).

also in other xbone news, according to vgchartz, the xbone has sold 10 million units. which is pretty close to the time frame of when the Ps4 hit the milestone.

The PS2 also had an install base of 120 million vs the Xbox's less than 20.

i'm not talking about where sa sold the most, but those who owned an xbox already, good portions of them bought Ps2s because they didn't want to wait for the xbox port of it.

That a leap of logic that jumps off a cliff in Tennessee and lands in Wisconsin. It's way more likely that the people who wanted GTA had a PS2 already considering how all the previous games had released at least two years prior on PS2. I mean, there may have a very, very, very, very small amount of people like you mention, but such a small margin it wouldn't matter at all to sales of the game.

dude i didn't even get your first sentence, but yes most people who wanted gta already probably had a Ps2 since it was always exclusive to it first. but for those who had xbox who also enjoyed gta, san andreas in particular after the other 2 games was one a lot of them didn't wait for. it's also the best selling gta of that trilogy, and the best selling gta game on xbox like you said. it's the only one that ever made it to the platinum hits.

somehow, I just don't see ROTR being a major X1 system seller.

Halo 5 will be, but not ROTR.

I think just the fact that it is an exclusive should make it seem like a more valuable game to the eyes of xboners. damn, is that too much? xbone gamers. :palps:

Halo 5 is a game changer. Tomb Raider... should sell well, but I don't see it moving consoles by itself.

It has. But, Halo 5 actually looks like it might revitalize the series.

Don't **** this up, Microsoft.
