A good Rare game would get me to get a Xbox One. But I have doubts Rare can reach the caliber of their Nintendo days.
 
I know some of the people at Free Radical went to Crytek UK (and then there was issues with them so I don't know if they are still there). Maybe Microsoft could buy them out and give us another TimeSplitters.
 
Ha, Timesitters. I forgot about that game. It was basically the 007/Perfect Dark for the PS2. I think it was a lot of the same people from the old Rare?

Yes, it was also on Xbox and Gamecube minus the first game which was only on PS2. It was Goldeneye/Perfect Dark perfected. One of the best shooters out there, I can't decide if TimeSplitters 2 or Future Perfect is better. So much content to unlock to keep you playing for a long time.

Most of the "good" people went to Free Radical after Perfect Dark. There was also a good game called Second Sight they made.

This was a pretty good interview with Ken Lobb, he seems super excited about Phantom Dust & Scalebound. I can't wait to see those two games in action! I'm also happy to hear that Killer Instinct is a success for MS, I'm a big fan of that game & was worried it wasn't doing too well.

Also, I find it a bit suspicious that he outright denies that a new Perfect Dark is being worked on, but doesn't mention Banjo or Battletoads. :hubba
 
After Nuts & Bolts I don't know if Rare should tackle Banjo ever again. Give it to someone who could a make a great 3D platformer.
 
I'm fine with that & MS should definitely lend the Rare franchises out more so that we can see more of them. It worked well for KI, it'd work well for other series; this way Rare can make new IPs or do whatever they want at the same time.

I have hopes for Rare now that Don Mattrick isn't casting a shadow over them. I think Phil Spencer understands what Rare was & why they were popular, hopefully he can revive them.
 
I really think I would be interested in any Rare IP franchise revival if, like Killer Instinct, someone else actually developed it.
 
Main thing is they have the IPs and have seen that they can be successful being brought back. I doubt they get actual current Rare guys to take them on anyway as those guys have been focusing on Kinect for years now.
 
Battletoads just fell by the wayside. It started out as kind of a satire, and think it would definitely work as that again if they revived it.
 
Is there a list of all the available Rare IPs somewhere (or does someone happen to know them)?
 
I'd be TOTALLY ok if this property came back. Online 4 player co-op? Yes please.

Ford GTs are one of my favorite cars in all of the games. I didn't know Ford made a new one. Can't wait to use it in FM6.

I think I'll go ahead and announce Forza 7 & 8 while I'm here to save them the trouble. ;)
 
I don't know if they'll add both night driving and a weather cycle but you gotta figure the praise for Driveclubs visuals has pushed them into at least one of them.
