and yeah. that light is annoying as ****. I'll try searching online to see if there's a way to turn it off first.

The Pro is different as its predecessor of course didn't have a 4K player either. It's one thing to not include an expected feature, but much worse to take out an existing feature from a previous console within the same gen.

All these lights can interfere with sleep and quality of sleep. I hate them all! I like the look of the PS4 light for eg but I hate having to look at it while playing. Even with the Xbox controller I cover the Xbox light if one of my hands are free.

I'm really interested in the Scorpio and how it could possibly end the concept of console generations.

and I don't mind lights while I'm playing. it's when I'm trying to sleep.....lol.

or when you wake up in the middle of the night, groggy and confused, and there's a glowing/blinking light going off in one part of the room. that can be scary!! lol

I would like the generations to end and they give us an upgraded console every few years that does everything the previous one could do and more so you can just keep trading up rather than buying new consoles from scratch.

The Xbox one S (which I got) is sort of the hold you over Xbox until next year and to sort of counter Sony release this year I believe.

I do not see much happening after that with newer releases except "more powerful" so most people will probably be able to wait a few years and not upgrade.

I mean unless they release a Xbox with holographic technology..

I will jump onto the "Scorpio" only because of the True 4K gaming and being more powerful. I have no use for VR as that would make me sick. (some shooters right now give me headaches and make me sick to my stomach). After the Scorpio... as I said it better have Holo tech.

The good thing about getting to 4K is that the resolution battle that started with the move to HD will be over for a long time after this meaning all the power of future machines can be used on other graphical effects and improvements.

so, I've noticed that when I wake up my X1 from Instant On sleep, it often doesn't connect automatically to my wireless network nor does it recognize any wireless network to choose from. I have to restart the console to fix it.

anyone else experience that? Is there a way to fix that?

also, I'm installing Forza right now!!

Even with the PS4 and X1. Both lacked features their predecessors had ( like being able to store media files directly to the hard drive ). The PS4 can't even play audio cds and it still won't let you use a custom background of your own choice.

So, you never know with these new consoles. I agree it's always better to add to and make better. but often they do remove features.

yeah, it will be an interesting year for MS next year. Hopefully they learned their lessons from the botched X1 reveal and really nail it with the Scorpio or whatever it will be called ( too bad the Elite moniker was already taken....lol ).

With Spencer in charge, I'm confident they will deliver. if anything, the S feels like what the X1 should have been originally, both in terms of design and focus ( games first, media machine 2nd ).

And believe it or not, the PS4 Pro's lack of a 4K player did play a factor in my decision to get the S along with my new 4K tv.

Yes that definitely shouldn't be happening. First thing to try with any X1 problem is hard reset (on the console hold the power down till after it switches off (rather than just pressing to turn off) and then unplug for 5 minutes or so before restarting).

I can't really comment on other Forza titles, since I've never really played them other than the Motorsports Demo from last year.

What I can say is that Horizon 3 is simply gorgeous. And it's a blast to play for this non-racing fan. A game like this would make me play racing games more.

As for the HDR part, I have no real way to tell on my tv if it's in HDR or not. However, when I went to the tv menu to turn HDR auto/on/off for the port, with Horizon, Auto ( which is what I have it set to ) looks the same as On. When I switch HDR to Off, then everything becomes washed out.

So, in this case, I'm assuming that HDR is automatically set to on with this game.

I know here in the States, this week you get a free game of your choice when you buy an X1.

don't know if that also applies to the UK and worldwide.

edit: looks like it's only for US retailers. maybe your UK retailers are running a similar promotion?
