I'm just tired of Lex. I want Brainiac.

If they're going to to use him (and they probably will), I want them to wait until the third film.

I think there's room for both. Luthor is an amazing villain but they wouldn't risk not having a physical threat for an action set piece. Brainiac will probably be there. You CAN pull of two villains.

I'm tired of wisecracking used car salesman real estate obsessed loser Lex.

Brilliant business man/visionary scientist/sociopath Lex? Yeah, I haven't seen that guy yet so I can't be tired of him.

He wasn't even needed in Superman 2! :whatever:

Two villians similar to TDK, maybe Brainiac could be the main villian and Luthor is not known as a villian yet but in the end shows his true colors somewhat similar to TDK but not quite.

I'd be fine with both.

I want them to get a decent GL in there, too. Instead of a reboot take the approach of The Incredible Hulk and tell a new story with new cast and creative team with a nice little nod to the origin in the title sequence.

Wasn't TIH a reboot?

They just avoided another origin story.

Luthor should be set up in sequel but not a main villian, he should be the main villian in the conclusion

I think Lex would be too boring after a movie were Zod unleashes hell on the human populous.

I'd say Darkseid for MOS 2 and Braniac for MOS 3.

I don't know about Justice League.

Eh, I think they can make Lex an awesome villain visually if he has highly advanced technology. If he has Metallo at his disposal or the Kryptonite battlesuit, that could be pretty amazing.

^ I don't know. I think Ra's Al Ghul and Bane were bigger threats to Gotham than the Joker. I'm not saying they shouldn't use a bigger villain, but I'd like the second film to be more psychological. If there can be a grand villain that does that, it would be great.

Different? Absolutely. Boring? Not if done right.

I may not want to see Lex again any time soon, but I do recognize his potential.

Yeah, Joker was more of a threat to Batman's character than Gotham. The whole goal of Joker was to break the bat and bring him down to his level. Gotham was just a pawn in this scheme.

But after watching Kryptonians in battle suits who's going to be intimidated by a human, even a smart human, in a battle suit?

Lex should be there, but in a secondary role.

Exactly. Luthor can be trying to destroy Superman's reputation, his identity. He wants to control the minds and hearts of people so that they wouldn't want to have anyone else but himself as their leader.

I find Luthor like characters to exist in this world, from mob bosses to dictators. That's why I think it would be fascinating to see this take.

Yeah, I'm a fan of the idea that the sequel should be all about how/why Lex becomes Superman's biggest (and most personal) nemesis. This could easily involve him teaming up with a more powerful villain, as he has in the canon countless times before. Metallo or Braniac would be good bets. (Lex getting screwed over by said villain at some point is kind of a given.)

^ Totally. I like the idea of both because it plays with the idea of technology going amok. Though Metallo can be done "smaller" whereas Brainiac would have to be an epic villain (the main one, IMHO).

But MOS2 should develop MOS, especially if there are elements that need to be developed. Assuming the 3.5 hour cut isn't released.

What about Lex being introduced in MOS 2 and becomes a manipulative and untouchable US president in MOS 3?

Is that too close to GI Joe 2?

^ TBH, I've never been fond of the idea of Lex actually BECOMING president. The best Superman can do is expose Luthor. It's something that punching can't solve, not that I'd want it to. I personally like Luthor as the mastermind of Metropolis, with political aspirations. Foiling those aspirations would provide a motive of revenge, though I want him to hate Superman from the outset :)

Yeah, I've never been a big fan of Lex becoming president. I like him better as a ruthless corporate leader.
