I'm not a Superman fan at all, so I went in looking to be entertained. In the end, it was a solid 7/10. I don't feel it is anything revolutionary at all and it felt very much like Batman Begins to me. Was good, but wasn't anything that blew my socks off.

I have to disagree with the folks saying that the action is the best ever to be put on screen in a CBM. That for me just isn't the case. The last hour is very action heavy but its also all CGI, which makes it insanely hard to follow at times and hard to focus on whats happening to who and where.

I just hope Snyder hasn't made an empty film...then again I have faith in these people in that if it truly were empty, it would be mentioned and they weren't just taken by the explosions and bright lights.
If the film is empty as you fear then you gotta blame Goyer/Nolan/Nolan for it.

why? just wondering

Why am I asking? Because "Banned User" just appeared under his name and his posts dried up very suddenly. But I know some users do that anyway.
If you're asking why he got banned, no idea.

Just got back from a screening. It's great, but it's not perfect either. A few parts felt rushed. I can't give it a nod over TDK. I think 85/100 is where it's at. Action is on the "dude wtf (in a good way)" level, something you'll have to see more than once. Some parts could've been explained better or been different I think. I leave that down to the plot which isn't perfect.

It's a great first Superman and better than SR by a longggggg shot. Cavill did well. Snyder be praised. The man can do action. No idea where they'll go from here.

Ask me anything non-spoilery.

So you are saying Superman fans will like it? and if it felt like BB I will probably LOVE IT. sweet.

What are some of the problems Autonet?

Some of the way the plot is woven. Dare I say too much use of flashbacks maybe? A couple of parts you'll want to know a little more, but won't get it. I know what the critics will harp on.

Just saw Man of Steel at a pre screening. Go see it, dope. The fight scenes are very ill.

85/100 is exactly what I said the final RT score would be, lol.

Autonet, How did it compare to Batman Begins origin, was it better than BB or TDKR? and how did itcompare to the action in Avengers?

I would assume so, not to get into a war lol but I've just never been a fan of Supes. So if I can watch the movie and be entertained and enjoy it then I would think most can. Yes, I would put it on par with Begins. Its a little long in the opening and a little drawn out in the middle but picks up for ACT III nonstop.

Well i mean one of the problems with Superman Returns was it's greatest action sequence took place more towards the beginning of the film, so building action to a peak at the end is a good thing.

It didn't feel anything like BB or TDKR. I would put it under BB and probably right along with TDKR (in terms of my own enjoyment).

The action is more brutal than Avengers and there's way more destruction. Avengers is 5 vs 100. Man of Steel is way smaller in scale, but way more intensity because of that. The battle of Smallville is awesome. I'd give the nod to Man of Steel. If people like Faora now, they'll explode after seeing her in the movie.

Saw the pre-screening of @ManofSteelMovie tonight w @PaulaDarracott The movie & the message was AMAZING!

another who actually loved the story elements and first half, but did not like the last hour because of the too much action and all **** breaking loose

That's pretty much exactly where I'm expecting it to be. And I loved Batman Begins, so that's great to know.

i loved Batman Begins... honestly, though, I'm hoping it does better than Batman Begins

batman begins is our favorite batman movie, so we like these comparisons ioo

How would you rate Henry Cavill's acting? Is it true that he does not have much dialogue?

i was lucky enough to see this movie last night via an advance screening. i expected to hate the movie because of the last Superman incarnation from Bryan Singer and the fact it was directed by Zack Snyder (i just plain dislike ALL of his films, even '300'). anyways... start the film. 2 and half hours later: i LOVED it. every minute of it. even the 3D parts weren't gimmicky. the 3D was done in a way to enhance, rather than obscure the scenes. best film of the year so far. better than all the marvel comic put together. and that includes 'Avengers'. Snyder pulled it off. but i don't have any doubts that the reason it worked is because of Christopher Nolan's input and the use of Hans Zimmer's amazing music (Snyder's use of music in all of his previous films is garbage and the bane of em all). definitely waiting to see it again when it comes out officially next week. i don't think this is a spoiler, but there is NO post credit scene. just the 'S' logo in 3D at the end. so don't expect to see Kent eating alone at a restaurant and to have Bruce Wayne sitting down at the table to talk to him about some "business".
