Took my mother too see IM3 yesterday (she really liked it). Totally forgot about the embargo until last night.

I haven't actually read a few, just the little blurbs on RT. My excitement hasn't changed. I still have my Wed marathon of DCAU Superman and my favorite Superman films ready to go. :woot:

I still have to see IM3 again. I watched Avengers with my nephew this weekend. He's 5, he had to watch it with all of his action figures.

They had all the MOS banners up at the IMAX, I was half-expecting to see people on line for it already.

You know another thing that has hit me... We have old school critics trying to rate this generation's Superman. I think because of the other versions they grew up with / saw before... it's influencing their reaction.

Way more similar to the MCU films than the Nolan Batfilms. Wouldn't be surprised if Nolanites are a little disappointed while MCU fans are pleasantly surprised.
Nah uh. MOS is deathly serious, supposedly. That alone makes it not like the MCU films.

Never heard of him. He sounds made up.

The dude obviously should of been born without cahonas because all he's raving on about how there's too much action, it's fast and how he'd rather watch a chick-flick movie with Lois and Faora in the lead role. He didn't want a Superman movie. He wanted Superman Returns again. Slow, dull, uneventful and FULL of chick-flick drama. #Girly-man.

Humor aside, I've seen it and I thought the narrative structure of the film was much more similar to recent MCU films than the Nolan Batflicks.

 This.

Everything they've considered "negative" I think is awesome.

Same here. Too serious, too much action, not character development of other characters in a biography of Kal-el (origin story).

BB had no character development other that Bruce/Batman. In TDK othe other characters really shined.

I expect the same for the MOS series.

This is just pathetic.

The general public looks more at IMDB ratings then they do on RT. When I search for movies I always click on IMDB links and see the user ratings.

This why I believe that IMDB ratings are more important then RT as most people look at IMDB.

IMDB is troll central.. You will have tons of Marvel fans there rating it a 1 or 2 for laughs...

Most people do look on IMDB. Most people don't have a clue. :(

Funny. Good critics.... ya they r telling the truth ; Bad critic... don't bother, they r old generation n can't accept changes. Lol what do we call these?

Once again if the critics are happy, the movies great, and if they aren't then they're wrong. But I'm hoping they are :)

Sadly, not much in the way of banners a my local theater. Just the popcorn tubs and the drinks.

It was the second time seeing IM3. Definitely still enjoyed it quite a lot, probably even more so then my first time around. Caught a lot of little lines I had missed last time around. And your nephew definitely knows how to watch a movie properly. Reminds me of when I was little and watching SW buried in figures and lego sets.

and they are secretly eunuchs. The bad ones. The good ones can please their lovers, supposedly.

So people that "don't like" this movie are ones who say there's too much action and that it's "too serious", are mad they did the origin again, or are still bitter about Superman Returns.

They needed to do the origin because, while most of these 40 + year old film critics and "longtime fans" may know it, most the people from my generation do NOT.

So all of their "criticisms" are a good thing as far as I'm concerned.

Really? Is this your educated guess?

Since I haven't seen MOS yet, I can't really make a proper assessment of the reviews pouring in. I have noticed however a lot of the reviewers are praising Cavill's performance, which is a good sign. But I do feel there is a generational gap between what was and what is. I don't think it's crazy to suggest some of these critics are old school.

I don't take the humor/too serious thing. Every superhero movie need humor? Since when?

This is what I have being saying in previous post. Older generation who grew up loving Superman the movie are having a hard time moving on from this and is slamming MOS because it is nothing like it. From those that I know have seen it all loved it.

Haha, as long as they're not critical about a movie you're looking for to seeing. But if not, then by all means be critical and harsh. :oldrazz:

I was at one of those 'original' IMAX theaters that only has the one screen. Their MOS poster was already under the "NOW SHOWING" banner. Almost did a double-take when I first saw that today.

When we finished Avengers, he took his Captain America shield and gave me his Iron Man glove, and we had to go room-to-room looking for bad guys. I love this kid.

That's actually really great. :funny:
