Kevin Smith's lengthy Man of Steel review goes up tonight on one of his podcasts, for those of you interested.

David GOYER should never write a CBM ever. His record is SHOCKING!

If this produces SR numbers or god forbid even lower then Zack should go direct music videos.

Funny thing, during a video interview Chris Nolan was asked about his main challenges involved as producer on MoS, and he answered: "Helping David Goyer put the story together and guiding the screenplay where it needed to go."

Hey, Poni. Is being a critic your job or is it more of a side thing?

I'm a journalist not a full time critic. My focus is the run my site and contribute content. Reviewing movies/products/etc is one aspect of it but not what I spend the most time on.

Should be interesting. What's his website for his podcast?

Smodcast.com he has dozens of listed podcasts, but it will be under Fatman on Batman or the generically titled Smodcast.

"Superman's return to the big screen is mostly successful, as Man of Steel provides enough exhilarating action and spectacle to overcome its occasional detours into generic blockbuster territory"

RT should downgrade that consensus with a 58% rotten.. BTW I counted up 9 total reviews that were a combo of 3/5 or a B- or 6.5/10 that are rotten. At least 4 or 5 with those same scores were fresh..

The trouble is, I feel like Goyer could benefit full Nolan supervision. But he was busy with TDKR :(

It sounds like Man of Steel tried to do everything that Superman Returns did wrong, but in the process it missed the mark on everything that film did right.

That crossed my mind yesterday but in fear of being slammed by other posters, I avoided mentioning it. Although, I don't think MoS is as bad as critics and others are making it out to be. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Only a few of us (like myself) have actually seen the movie. So, with respect to others, I hold my judgement until a majority have seen the film, too.

The reviewer chooses to submit their review as either Rotten or Fresh. It's not based on their rating.

How is 3/5 or B- rotten?

According to the public SR did almost nothing right but the critics truth be told never saw it that way.. They liked SR, the GA didn't..

Not true. It grossed almost $400 mil and had good legs considering the theatrical competition.

Of course, most critics loved the original Donner Superman and SR was a total retread complete with copied lines and just a kid thrown in. Let's hope the audience now takes to MOS.

Sure it does. RT forces their reviewers to choose from two options. Do you endorse the movie: Yes or No. If they found it to be technically sound but overall creatively lacking, then it could be a no. Same goes for if they found it to be absurd and structured poorly but very entertaining then it could be a yes.

How on Earth do you ignore a user? I assumed it would be in the drop-down under the username.
