I hated Alice. Loathed. It physically made me upset sitting there watching it. But, it's a family movie and since my kids loved the hell out of it I took them to see it three times. In 3D (which I also avoid). Just like with Transformers, Pixar movies, etc, kids are still the #1 target demographic for summer movies.

Yeah, and kids don't give a **** about critics. :woot:

Heck no. They don't even care what their friends think. That's why I'll be (unfortunately) seeing Monsters University at least another dozen times. Bleh.

Boy, I'm sure glad I chose to be an eternal bachelor.

^ That describes me as well, Poni. I don't care what my friends think either. :yay:

I'm going to see it , in a couple of hours. But my hype is not on the same level as it was a couple of days ago.

I knew the movie wasn't gonna be the best-reviewed superhero film ever! because its directed by Zack Snyder, I didn't like the last few films that he directed. But I'm quite surprised by a 57% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

I can't wait to watch this movie this evening.

Yeah, I'm getting annoyed at that trend. I'm hoping it manages to climb back to 60% with so many reviews waiting in the wings.

I'll see for myself tomorrow afternoon but my guess is the critics just find the action to be too much and the tone is too dark for Superman.. They see Superman as lighter and more fun and this movie didn't give that to them..

Can't wait to see Mark Kermode do his Zach Snyder impression on the review.

You kidding? I love my kids. Some of the most movie related fun I have is with them. Didn't like the married part though hah

That's like someone telling me to get over my brother who died from cancer when he was 24. It's something that will never happen. You don't get over it. You cope with it and accept it, always remembering.

Exactly. And I'm sorry about your brother.

Me either.. It's hard to go in with massive expectations when so many critics are saying it basically is mediocre..

Different strokes, dude. Me, I have an allergic reaction to anyone under 30.:woot:

never would have thought this movie would be "rotten". i wasn't over-hyping it like everyone else, but yeah.

irony of this site's name aside, maybe it's a sign that people shouldn't get too carried away / invested in an upcoming release being the best thing since sliced bread.

Mine HATES Superman. Don't know why. He is all Batman. Maybe it's because Superman is always kickin *** in the JL cartoons, lol but when he saw DK Returns Part II, I had never seen a kid jump for joy like he did when Batman was whipping Superman.

But yet, he is begging me to take him with to see Man of Steel... lol.

Can't really blame people though. The trailers were spectacular and really did make it look like it could've been the best comic book movie of all time. Then there were the constant promotions and the very positive early buzz. I honestly don't think I'll be able to trust my own judgement again after this.

I was discussing this with my friend earlier and I pretty much decided that i'm not gonna get excited for anything ever again. Oh i'm sure there will be things out there that will catch my interest, but i'm not gonna get hyped for anything anymore. It just sets yourself up for awful disappointment.

Are there positive reviews which haven't been added yet?

^ Yep. I think MOS will be the passable entry into a great sequel. OR it could be a strong movie with flawed pacing. We'll have to wait and see.

Exactly. I can't believe that someone had the nerve to say that.

Grow a pair, huh...funny how the people who say such things never have a pair themselves.

EURGH! Maybe I can wait to take my son to his first movie, LOL! You are a great father for stomaching Alice so many times.

Right now we're on a Curious George kick, which is nice. I would like to show my son (15 mos. old) some Superman cartoons, maybe let him watch the Donner movies a little bit. Also, I need to find him one of the Supes shirts with a cape on it. He has Batman and Thor; need to complete the set!

My niece has pink Superman pyjamas. She went in to the store wanting something with, specifically, Superman on it. Nothing else. Teaching her well aren't I?

I hate to say it, but so do I, and I hate myself for hating kids...and the biggest problem? They love me, and never leave me alone. Visiting with friends when I was home on vacation, their son couldn't pull himself off of my lap with his story book...oh boy...what fun that was:waa:
